I would like to give this place a big ZERO if only I could but I had to get my experience out there to save anyone who is thinking about moving in here any grief.
To start, the place was very noticeably poorly constructed and rushed. Upon move in my place already had plenty of nicks on the walls (see photos) and the place was DUSTY! I had to clean it before moving my stuff in which I didn’t mind initially because I was so excited to move in. But even while living in there, I got multiple notices on my door that maintenance had something else to add to the unfinished apartment such as screens for the windows, shelves in the laundry room, or painting my door.
On top of that, my a/c didn’t work for a whole month and I moved in in the middle of summer! When I went to request it getting fixed, it took forever to get someone in to check out the a/c unit and yet they still couldn’t fix it and had to call another company to come in and take a look. To my surprise, they found that even the a/c in my room wasn’t working as it had a leak. Mind you, these were BRAND NEW apartments when I moved in so there was no reason why the a/c units should have been broken to begin with.
On top of the initial issues I had, this property makes you use some sort of smart hub for your home which for me personally, NEVER WORKED. For the first week I was able to get into my apartment just fine then suddenly stopped working. When I called the office to bring up the issue I was told to call spectrum as if they had anything to do with their system not working. Regardless I called and was told it was not an internet issue. Regardless I’d been getting into my apartment with my key because my pass code to get in doesn’t work. Then there’s the issue with the lights where you’re supposed to be able to turn them on and off on the app but guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK. Not much of an issue to me but I’m paying for an app that doesn’t even work and it’s not optional.
Then there’s my issue with paying rent, which they’re quick to post notices on your door but not quick to post your payment which in turn makes you accrue late charges. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Then there’s the issue of not having an emergency contact for any issues that may occur outside of office hours. I once got completely locked out of my apartment and guess what? Nobody was able to help me so in turn I had to spend the night at a friend’s home because since my code to get in didn’t work and I had left my keys inside (I know, silly me lol), I had absolutely no way to get in and there was nobody in charge of the property that I could contact until the next day. It was a small issue for me, but I can’t imagine someone having a more serious problem and not being able to get any help.
And lastly I want to address the staff. Rocky is awesome! He helped me with the move in process and he was super helpful in every way. I can’t say the same for the rest of the staff. I didn’t quite catch her name, but the staff member who sits at the front of the leasing office on the left side is very rude and condescending. She has never been helpful and is always annoyed anytime I bring in any questions or concerns, which I’ve had a lot of. She talks down to people anytime she gets annoyed and gives you attitude if you don’t automatically agree with her. I hope someone puts this lady in her place.
I have so much more to ramble about regarding this place but I won’t ever be finished if I keep going. All in all, please do not waste your money on these overpriced apartments. They are not worth the insane...
Read moreWORST apartment complex I have ever worked with. Staff are incompetent and will ignore you instead of dealing with issues.
While living there, I had ongoing issues with the person who lived above me. The complex has a policy about quiet hours from 10pm to 8am. And the person upstairs would wake me up or keep me up during the quiet hours on countless nights. In a year time span I made 12 complaints. When I would send an email 90% of the time I would get ignored. When I went in, in person they would say they would file a complaint. Nothing was ever resolved. The issue continued. Finally, I got tired of not being able to sleep so I went to the office to break my lease. They wanted me to pay $3,000+ fee for breaking the lease even though they were the ones not following the lease agreement. After talking to multiple people, they said they would only charge me until someone moved in and then they would give me a prorated bill. I was told I would receive a bill of the full buyout amount but to ignore it because it would not be the final bill. I was told I would have to pay in March 2025.
At the end of September I moved out. Four days after I moved out they sent me to collections. At this point I had not even received a bill from the apartment. Weeks later when I received the bill it was not even the correct final bill because no one had moved into my apartment yet. When I reached out to the complex they suggested that I make a payment plan with the debt collector even though there was no final amount. After three attempts to get further information and being ignored they finally said they would put my collections on hold and would let me know when someone moved into my apartment so that they could give me the prorated amount owed. They did not inform me of when someone moved into my apartment, but I was able to find out on my own that someone had moved in. When I asked if someone had moved in and for the updated prorated amount I was ignored. After sending countless emails and being ignored I reached out to corporate. Then I quickly got an answer saying the complex owes me money and will mail out the check. A week later, I received a letter in the mail, dated the day after they told me I would get a refund, saying I owe them money. Again, I sent countless emails to get answers as to why I’m getting two sets of information and to find out which is correct, all of which were ignored. Once again, I reached out to corporate and got a response saying I owe money and that I could pay them directly instead of going back to collections.
It took from the end of September to mid December to clear up these issues because this place chooses to ignore issues/ concerns instead of...
Read moreIf you're in the market for an abysmal living experience, look no further than Double R Living Apartments. This architectural disaster is a masterclass in shoddy construction. From the moment you step foot inside, you'll be greeted by a disheartening display of incompetence.
Let's start with the construction quality, or lack thereof. The building appears to have been assembled with the structural integrity of a house of cards. The floors creak and groan with every step, as if they were ready to collapse under your weight at any moment. It's a constant reminder that your safety is never a priority here.
And let's not forget about the leaky roof that greets you on rainy days. The management's apparent inability to fix this recurring issue has resulted in a damp and musty environment. You'll find yourself navigating a minefield of buckets strategically placed to catch the cascading water, as if that's a normal part of apartment living.
Thin walls are another charming feature of Double R Living. If you enjoy hearing every intimate detail of your neighbors' lives, then congratulations, you've found your perfect home. From late-night arguments to raucous parties, the paper-thin walls ensure that you're never truly alone, even when you desperately crave some peace and quiet.
But wait, there's more! Prepare yourself for a maintenance team that rivals the speed of molasses. When something goes awry in your unit, don't hold your breath for a prompt resolution. The unresponsive maintenance crew is either too overwhelmed with the myriad of issues or simply doesn't care enough to attend to your concerns. Good luck getting anything fixed in a timely manner.
Last but certainly not least, the management at Double R Living deserves a special mention. Their complete lack of accountability and disregard for tenants' needs is truly awe-inspiring. Attempting to get a response from them is an exercise in futility. Your complaints and requests will vanish into a void of indifference, leaving you feeling utterly helpless.
In summary, Double R Living Apartments is a prime example of everything that can go wrong in the realm of apartment living. With its awful construction quality, leaky roof, thin walls, and unresponsive maintenance and management, it's a place where dreams of a comfortable home go to die. Save yourself the agony and find...
