Benton communications did great when they originally installed in my new house a year and a half ago. We had to get a box to help spread our wifi signal to our TV for streaming. The box was only getting about 70-80mbps and all of the sudden the past week it seemed to be really off. I called and told them about my issue on Tuesday, they called me back within an hour. The technician tried reseting it from his end, but it didn't work so he came out to my house within another hour. He kept seeing the slow speed upstairs and fast (250+) down by the main router and decided to come back the next day and he hardwired the connection from the router to the box. The jack he created in the wall looks professional, he cleaned up the mess that was made by carving in my wall, and he said it was covered by a fee that's already included in our monthly payments. Now I get 250mbps upstairs and downstairs. I've dealt with big companies like charter spectrum and whatnot. I am so happy to be a part of Benton Communications in my small town I didn't have to sit on hold for any period of time, I wasn't forced to try to troubleshoot anything myself before finally suggesting a technician to come out, and my problem was resolved in pretty much 24 hours and not only fixed, but new and improved. I feel confident that I will never have wifi connection issues while streaming my favorite shows/movies the rest of my time living in my house unless something serious happens. And their price of $76 a month is...
Read moreI'm posting this from my phone(thanks cell provider) because for the 6th time this month I don't have any internet from Benton CO-OP, who has the #%^** ing nerve to charge 140 bucks a month for. If I had any other option I would take it. They offer a truly terrible service, they are nice enough but nice is not a substitution for competence. I did not bother calling them today since when this happened last week they didn't bother to respond to that call. I am not very concerned about them seeing this review because I'm not even sure they know how to use the Internet there. As a technical professional who has to have wired internet I have no choice but to put up with a provider this pathetic, but for the average person, really just increase your cell data and use that. If you are planning on moving anywhere that is covered by them I would definitely think twice. I don't have time to go into their cable quality and phone service policies but if you read this far you have an idea. I hope I save someone the years crap I have had with this company. Thanks for nothing...
Read moreWe moved into a new home a few years ago with no home internet providers in the area. We struggled with Verizon and others to get some sort of service. After a few attempts, Arvig agreed to set is up with no promises for capacity or speed. It did work okay but sketchy or dead in bad weather. It wasn’t strong enough to stream a TV and our phones at the same time. When Benton Communications fiber came around last summer, we jumped on it. It has been fantastic. Almost a year now and only one outage due to a hit line in the area. It was repaired in a matter of a few hours. Great speed and more than adequate to run all we have in our home. No pixelated sports on the TV like we had experienced with Arvig. (again, Arvig warned us they couldn’t promise the best at our location). The fiber was plowed in to our house with little invasion to the landscape and the installers...
