Dollar General — Local services in Rice

This store in Rice is very misleading on clearence items. Also needs to be more clear on discounted items. The store is too busy and needs to have more cashiers. Need to organize better for checkout line as there is no room to stand. Staff is unorganized and needs to be trained better. Managers included. It's impossible to get a correct answer on even the simple items in the store such as price etc. Watch when they ring up items because if you happen to have an item on sale, chances are it will be incorrect and the line will get even longer because cashier needs to get manager to manually override the price after they try telling you everything is correct which it's not, so double check. The only good thing about Dollar General in Rice is the convenience. When there's not another store around I guess you have to put up with...

I only get a few items every time I stop here so the ease and speed of using the self check-out was always nice. Then Dollar Generals all over the place closed down use of the self check-outs due to theft (doesn’t seem to matter the town). Fine, I get it, then have employees available when lines start building up. I have seen where they open a self checkout and just monitor right next to you (better than waiting forever). Most of the staff is nice but there is one older shorter haired blonde lady who seems completely bothered to do her job every time I’ve ever had her check out my items. This store is really surprising. I've even found a few organic items in their grocery dept. And they have a surprising amount of natural/ homeopathic medicines. Even some basic essential oils and carrier oils! And they have fun kitchen towels and cute kitchen curtains for the eclectic taste. Oh and they have great matte lipstick colors in their Broadway line.

Got a kid in school that "suddenly remembers he has a report due"? They've got everything you'll need and you won't have to drive to town to get it. Poster board, paint, glitter, stencils, etc.

Oh and they are open late too. I love that. And most of the employees are really nice...
