Below is my review from a year ago: unfortunately, I have to change it based on what is happening now. I do not know what else to do to get someoneâs attention. I hurt myself last September and my trainer put my training sessions on freeze, he let me know they were frozen until early December. My trainer left the gym in October, so I could no longer use him as my main contact at the gym for assistance. I spoke with the current manager in mid-November to make sure my training sessions would stay frozen and he assured me they would. I was charged for training sessions in December, the gym did refund me, but it took 7 days to get it back. First I was told that it was complicated the way my training sessions were set up and they didnât know how to undo it⌠Then another person I spoke to assured me my account would be frozen until December 2023 and it would only âun-freezeâ if I asked for it. Imagine my surprise when I received an email in early February that I was about to be charged for training sessions again. I called the gym and they told me that no one but the manager knew how to cancel memberships. I waited a week for the manager to come back, as he was dealing with a family emergency. On February 21, I went up there in person and asked to cancel my membership/training sessions. I wrote down my requests on a paper I was given, handed over my faub and left. I received an invoice stating my membership had been cancelled that same day. TODAY on 4/4, I received an invoice that somehow my training membership is about to be charged again!! This is fascinating, as my membership is cancelled. I called this location and no one answered. I called the billing department and I was told I have to contact the club. This is ridiculous.
Past review: I have not been to the gym in a few years, just been walking around my neighborhood, and I was finally ready to take my exercise routine to the next level. I was concerned because I have knee injury that was untreated for a long time and I lost so much of my strength/flexibility/balance on that side⌠I wanted to make sure that I didnât further injure my knee going to the gym.
I met with Connie for a tour of the gym and she was awesome and set me up with Kenny- who was going to give me a complimentary training session/intro to the gym. I was self conscious and nervous about meeting a trainer because I have had previous experiences where I felt intimidated and pushed into something I wasnât sure I wanted or needed.
I experienced such an opposite interaction with Kenny - in the best possible way. He was and is nothing but kind, open, caring, super knowledgeable, and approachable. I felt comfortable immediately with him and I felt confident in his ability to help me with my knee injury. I now see him twice a week for personal training sessions and I am so happy. Going into Anytime Fitness was the best decision Iâve made in...
Read moreI booked an open gym session at Anytime Fitness (Richardson) through ClassPass, which listed multiple available time slots for this location. I selected one, paid with credits, and even invited a friend to join.
When we arrived, we couldnât enter the gym because the door was locked and only accessible by key fob. We contacted the gym manager, who was unexpectedly rude and dismissive, claiming that he had no affiliation with ClassPass, had never offered sessions through it, and insisted we had no right to access the facility.
While we understood there may have been a miscommunication between ClassPass and the gym, we had proof of our booking and had already paid. We respectfully asked if we could just use the space this once, considering we came all the way there and had a confirmed reservation â but he refused. Eventually, another gym member opened the door and let us in. However, shortly after we began warming up, the manager contacted someone else inside to force us to leave.
We left confused and frustrated, with no access, no refund, and no accountability from the gym. We donât know if the issue lies with ClassPass or the gymâs management of their partnership, but as customers, we followed all the steps properly. We were met with zero empathy, no explanation, and no offer of support or resolution.
If you're a ClassPass user, avoid this location. And even if you're local, Iâd think twice â based on how dismissively we were treated, I wouldnât recommend this gym to anyone looking for a welcoming or professionally managed...
Read moreI am a coach at this facility, so my opinion is admittedly biased. However, having visited at least two dozen other locations across the country, I can honestly say that this is the best Anytime Fitness I have seen. At 6400sf, this location is larger than the average AF (~5000sf). Other gyms may be bigger with more equipment, but the combination of size and features gives you the best of both worlds here: flexibility and room to exercise without having to wait for equipment. A four-station X-Rack in the free weight area lets you do bench, incline, squats, deadlifts at four spots SIMULTANEOUSLY. A huge turf area can easily fit a dozen people for stretching, warmups, body-weight exercises, and group/team training. The studio provides an opportunity for a virtual instructor-led workout or just some privacy from the rest of the gym. Finally, the staff and trainers here are the best: friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and ready to help you reach your goals - no matter how big or small. Lastly, I must take this opportunity to call out those who have left 1-star reviews for this gym. I know the truth about these folks. TRUST ME when I say this: it has absolutely nothing to do with the gym or the equipment or the staff. And I'll just leave...
