There are not very many halal Chinese options in Dallas metro. A couple of locations permanently closed during Covid. This is a small dine-in restaurant with a capacity of less than 50 guests, but they offer carryout and delivery options.
My wife and I arrived for dinner on a Monday at 4:30pm and had to wait outside for half an hour. Please take a note of the business hours. It opens at noon for lunch (until 3:30pm). Then, it reopens at 5pm for dinner (until 10pm).
We ordered Chicken Manchurian, Chicken 65 with a side of Fried Rice. It took about 10 minutes to prepare the food. It was served hot with condiments and all items tasted great. Each serving was large enough for up to 2 guests or you would end up with leftover for carryout, unless you arrived famished and finished everything:-)
Fair warning to everyone: Do not order anything more than "medium spicy", unless you are someone who chugs Tabasco to rehydrate after a workout, or you find jalapeños as bland as green peppers, or you consider habaneros as borderline spicy. I am unsure if they use ghost peppers to make things extra spicy for the select few. The chicken 65 was spicy as requested and it reminded me of the atomic sauce from Wing Stop. Not only did each bite brought tears of joy, my nostrils had cleared up completely by the time I finished the yummy chicken.
Both she and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and we added this restaurant on our list of places to return sometime in the...
Read moreUnfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. We had been looking forward to ordering food from here, but it was really underwhelming. We picked dishes based on reviews, but our experience didn't match the glowing recommendations.
Manchow soup (chicken) - didn't receive chicken, was fine, but we don't really have a reference point. Not spicy, no specific flavor profile.
Chilli chicken momo - pretty good, not round. Different than momo we've had in other Nepalese restaurants, and not the best we've had so far.
Burnt garlic fried rice - probably had the least flavor of all the dishes we ordered. Didn't get much garlic flavor, either.
Coriander garlic chicken - didn't taste the coriander or garlic, was kind of a generic brown sauce.
Chicken Manchurian - nothing like other indo-chinese Manchurian dishes we've had, which are typically a sour/sweet/savory/spicy/unique experience. This was a brown sauce without much flavor.
Based on reviews, we exercised caution with the spice levels, but I didn't get much of a burn at all (and I'm not into super spicy foods).
We tried it all again as leftovers in case our taste buds were off, but nothing had changed. I'm so sad - indo-chinese is typically SO delicious, and the reviews are so good! I want to give it another try, but we definitely won't be ordering nearly as much just...
Read moreFinding a good halal Chinese restaurant in Dallas was a delight, and this spot did not disappoint. The ambiance was clean, cozy, and welcoming, setting the tone for a great dining experience.
The staff were incredibly friendly and offered thoughtful suggestions, ensuring we tried some of their best dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which had a great balance of flavors. On their recommendation, we also tried the fried Mammosâwhile it was a new experience for the kids and not their favorite, the dish itself was well-prepared and enjoyable.
I ordered the Mongolian beef, which had a unique twist compared to other Chinese restaurants. The flavor leaned heavier on the soy sauce than expected, but still offered a satisfying taste. The garlic chicken was packed with bold flavor and cooked perfectly. One standout moment was how accommodating the staff wereâthey made a special shrimp dish for my son, simple and without gravy, even though it wasnât on the menu. Their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile made the experience truly memorable.
The service was excellent, and their commitment to customer satisfaction was clear throughout our visit. Iâm definitely looking forward to returning and exploring more...
