I once enjoyed going here but after multiple incidents years apart from each other the most recent one last week crosses the line and iv had enough. Please share and repost as I hope this review has an impact in how the owners and employees of this establishment treat people. About 4 years ago I was shopping in the store when I was suddenly stopped in the middle of my shopping and asked to remove a hoodie that was basically just covering my ears. I didn't even realize I had it on but I was basically not allowed to continue shopping until I removed it. Although while I didn't want to I didn't negate it so I just carried on. Fast forward to now a couple of days ago I was shopping there and I was checking out my groceries and the cashier attempted to deny me service because I was on my phone. It would be one thing if my phone conversation interfered with the flow of the transaction and held the line up but no such thing happened as I was more into the transaction than the conversation on my phone. After this I've had enough of being randomly targeted everytime I go this store and the attempts to deny service to certain individuals for policies that go way beyond no shirt no shoes no service. The people who shop there are the people who keep it in business and should not be treated this way no matter who it is. No other store in the community has such policies which is why I feel the owners need to stop treating certain people like theyr less than human and criminals. These policies only give a bad experience and make people not want to shop there. If a person is cold they should be able to wear their hood over their head as long as its not covering your face up. If you feel like someone maybe shoplifting then all you can do is carefully watch them from a distance. But it doesnt give you a right to police what people can wear. Also being on your phone shouldn't be a reason to deny service unless you're disrupting the process and not paying attention. As I said before no other store in our community treats its customers this way so I'm calling on all members of the community black brown and white to shop elsewhere until this store learns how to treat its customers with dignity and respect. There are plenty of other local stores with good...
ย ย ย Read morei find myself struggling to come up with an accurate way to describe the atmosphere at this location. the word that comes to mind the most would have to be oppressive. I felt an almost overwhelming sense of NOT being welcomed, almost as if I were the enemy. I am unsure of where the lady, whom appears to be in charge, originates, & at the same time I am convinced of her misery, broken dreams, and rage... all of the above is in fact my opinion, & I am untitled to mine as you are yours... if my above written opinion of this location were my only issue I would still continue to shop here, & do my best to support encourage & participate in the ongoing support of this establishment as a part of the community we live in... HOWEVER,
I just wanted to share my 1st time in the store. My first impression coming was they were aggressive at the fact that I had my own shopping bag and didn't want to use a shopping cart. Any other store I have been into doesn't force me to use a cart. The Asian lady also stated that I was "aggressive" only because I showed her I had an empty bag. I didn't even see a sign posted about it. It's one thing to say no outside bags but it's a other situation when basically profiling a black woman saying " why you're so aggressive when that's not the case. I see the convenience but not at the cost of being profile. You're located in an area that is currently under a second round of gentrification and a mainly black area. You don't deserve any business if that's how you talk to potential shoppers. Y'all asian love doing black communities and make money off of us just to treat us like trash like we're not the reason your family is able to eat and keep...
