Evelyn had me come in for six appointments while altering my wedding dress. I was nervous after my second appointment when she had not done any work on my dress, and I wish I had taken it home with me then and found someone else. She told me that each of the last three appointments would be my final appointment and that my dress would be ready to take home. She was late for the last two appointments and had me wait to steam my dress despite promising she’d have it steamed prior to my appointment. I was not happy with the quality of her alterations, and I heard stitches from my bow and straps popping throughout my wedding night. I’d voiced concerns about how her alterations impacted the top of my dress, and her response was to stand straight on my wedding day. She didn’t seem to think it was an issue that I’d be flashing everyone whenever I danced or moved my shoulders. Additionally, I bought additional fabric for both types of fabric on my dress. Evelyn was truly a godsend through our wedding preparations. She not only executed every detail I wanted to perfection, but she was also extremely quick, responsive, and knowledgeable. She even helped me practice walking in my dress, making time for questions and tips. I knew she must have been so busy, as my wedding was during peak wedding times, but she never made me feel rushed or anything less than her top priority. We spend so much time and effort picking out the perfect dress, that it’s so important that the person altering it is someone we can trust. I am so thankful we found Evelyn - I would recommend her to anyone needing wedding or formal alterations. Evelyn made my dress look truly beautiful and did such an amazing job at making me feel confident. She made my husband a pocket square out of my dress also. Working with Evelyn was challenging at times though. She forgot two of our appointments, one being two weeks before the wedding. We'd confirmed this fitting in person and it took her over a week to get back to me about scheduling a new appointment. She then didn't show up for that appointment and this created a great deal of stress being so close to the wedding. During the final appointment, she had forgotten to sew the cups in my dress and had to do this on the spot so I could take it home that day.
