I've slowly become a regular at Emeralds Lounge and I can honestly say that I've never had anything less than a stellar experience. In fact, every visit seems to surpass the last, continuously exceeding my expectations with their consistently high standards and inventive concoctions. The way the staff remembers your preferences and suggests new drinks to try makes you feel like a valued friend, not just a customer. If you're looking for a spot that guarantees a wonderful time with every visit, Emeralds Lounge is the place to be. The joyful atmosphere and the exquisite food and drinks ensure that each evening spent here is a memorable one....

This place is beautiful, but unfortunately, they haven't yet mastered how to handle the high demand for their services. I arrived at about 8:15pm on a Friday night, at which time I was told there would be about a 30-40 minute wait. Given I was meeting friends there, I thought that I could have a drink and wait for them to arrive. They do not allow you to stand in the common area and have a drink- you must be seated. I was told I could wait outside in the cold (no heated patio) or go to my car. I really wanted to try this spot, so I opted to be put on the waitlist. An hour into my wait, I replied to the text notification asking for an update. I was told it would be about 20 more minutes. By the time they notified me that my table was ready, it had been two hours and 20 minutes. Obviously by then we were not interested. A small establishment like this should have a protocol to ensure a time limit for their tables or should simply not use a waitlist system. We’ve waited a long time for a new cool bar to pop up in Church Hill and Emerald Lounge totally rises to the occasion.

Ambience: Upbeat, immersive, and chic. Lowkey tropical but don’t call it tropical. If you expect a lot from your cocktails AND interior design, this bar is for you.

Drinks: We tried the frozen Miami Vice (a daiquiri swirled with a pina colada because why not) and the More Than Words, a smoky drink with a kaleidoscopic flavor profile, served tiki style. We also went off menu for a classic Old Fashioned. All drinks were quite boozy and flavorful.

Food: Minimalist but edgy - think seven spice popcorn and glazed wings served intact for something different and memorable. I had the Waterfall Wings and they were fire (literally and figuratively).

*Our server was totally on top of my food allergy questions and even knew to check the cooking oil with a level of detail I usually have to pull teeth for. I felt safe and was able to eat multiple snacks without any mods! If you have allergies you know how much this matters. Can’t...
