
My friends and I used to spend every Friday and Saturday night at Fanin lanes without fail. I know people get busy and we slowed down coming in as much as we used to, but I can not imagine all the things that had to go wrong for this place to turn in to what it has become. The bar used to stay packed because there was a friendly knowledgeable staff and people didn't mind waiting. the staff working last night 2/9 was incompetent and rude. The bartenders working last night do t even have general knowledge of what bourbon is they seem to think all dark liquor is bourbon. When I voiced my opinion to a man that said he was the general manager, that was sitting at the bar with friends stuffing his face and drinking, I was told I don't know what I'm talking about. I have managed restaurants and bars around Jackson and the surrounding metro area and never had complaints, we kept good staff and good customers and we're always able to to make it a better experience for our patrons. The incompetence and rudeness of the staff and customers makes it easy to see the reason for the drastic decline in customer. When a bar goes from standing room only (every Friday and Saturday night) to barely enough people to cover the barstools it shows that management is the main problem. The ineptness of this management and staff makes me think this place won't be around for much longer which is sad considering how great this place used to be. Until the last year we never had a complaint about anything there but over the last year we have been in there several times and each time has been a bad experience. We continue to hope it gets better but after last night it doesn't matter if it does get better because as long as it continues to be run by the current management me nor my dozen or so friends will ever spend another dime there. There is only so many times I can tolerate rudeness and incompetence before it's not worth holding out hope for improvement. I do not leave many bad reviews after all the time I spent in this industry but it really seems that who is in charge doesn't care how the business is actually running, this place should be sold and o someone that is willing to make it better or at least staff it with competent employees and hold the staff to a higher standard. Read moreLiterally worst experience ever , I put my name on a waitlist to bowl and they told me 2 people were ahead of me so the wait will be 30 mins. They said I would receive two messages and I received neither after waiting 30 mins. I went back in to check on my spot and they said I was removed from the list 15 mins ago due to not coming in when the text was sent out through message. The lady asked to speak to me and I was being very polite and I had a nice tone with her but she still decided to come to me in a very hostile way and projected her voice to draw attention so I walked off. I went to let the group know what was happening and the lady came from out of nowhere and continue to talk to me when I was done speaking with her. I proceeded to tell her I was not upset but I just didn’t understand how people who just walked in were bowling and I had to wait 40 mins then I was going to have to wait another 40 mins on top of that since I got kicked from the list. So she then proceeded to get loud saying she doesn’t want any confrontation and she knows I’m upset but again guys the situation was only escalating on her side of the desk she was making herself mad because I was calm and collect she was turning red. She then even offered to give us a lane right away until she changed her mind to calling the police like the situation didn’t even call for that but they proceeded to kick me and my group out. Read moreI went to a birthday this weekend for my best friend's son's 6 year old birthday. The staff, the staff, THE STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend reserved 4 lanes and I repeat 4 LANES. There were like 15 children their plus parents. The staff piled all 15 children on 2 lanes. 7 on one and 8 on the other.... and gave them 30 MINUTES to bowl... how is that even possible. So a few of the parents went to the desk to see if we could bowl on 1 of the open lanes reserved for the birthday party. The young lady at the desk gave us every excuse why we couldn't. "Oh it's a 45 minute wait." "You have to get permission from the birthday host!" (we got the FULL OK by the host, by the way), and etc. Whatever! So we all just went back to the party to entertain our babies. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF I was sitting down with my sweet 2 year old while he was eating his little birthday cupcake... while he was drinking his water the Fannin Lanes' coordinator girl started cleaning up and just came over, balled up the table cloth with my son's cupcake in it, and then asked, "Oh.. was he still eating?" It happened so quick I was too shocked to even react. Dang I thought that most professional people would ask, "Are you finished with this and would you like for me to take this?" No ma'am, NO MA'AM!!!
I am gonna try to keep my personal feelings out of this... so this is strictly Business. The worst, unprofessional, most rude staff I have ever encountered.
We will not be going back over there. Fannin Lanes and it's staff has just left a horrendous taste...
