Recently, on 5/22/21, we purchased what we believed was a double convection oven from Monadnock Appliance store in Rindge, NH. We made the purchase over the phone after a lengthy conversation with a customer service representative in the store. We began the conversation with an inquiry about a conventional Frigidaire double oven for $1799 and also expressed an interest in a convection oven if one could be located for $300 to $400 more. The representative indicated that she did have a GE in stock for $2199. We called again, agreeing to the GE convection oven that she found online for us in their warehouse, indicating that we would pick up the double oven as soon as it was available. It arrived in their store three days later so I drove from Brattleboro, VT to Rindge, NH to pick it up. I requested to have it removed from the box so I could see it and then a second time so I could fit it completely in the SUV w/o leaving the hatch open and was told "no" both times. Believing we had the convection oven we wanted for $2199, I drove back home and neatly removed it from the box only to discover that it was a conventional oven - not the convection oven that we wanted. Our next conversation with the store left us with the understanding that the representative would find the oven we wanted and this would be resolved and she call us back the following morning even though the oven had been taken out of the box. The next day, after no return call was received and after we made several calls and left messages we reached the manager. He said that we would be subject to a 30% restocking fee but that he would do more research and "get back to us the next day." He did not get back to us. I made one final call to share that I would be happy to purchase the similar product that was a convection oven for $400 more if I could receive a full credit and to please call me back. Still, there was no return phone call. I am shocked and dismayed at the store's inflexibility regarding their internal policy when the error was not on our part. We feel that we were clear from the beginning that we were willing to pay a bit more for a convection oven and we believed that the one that the store ordered for us was a convection model. The store did not make any effort to appease us, and in fact doubled down with further inquiries stating that they might not accept the return at all. In the end, we will keep the oven, it is fine; just not the one we thought we were getting. If you are looking for a store that seeks to work with and satisfy customers, you should...
Read moreI recently had a great experience with Monadnock Appliance. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is shopping for appliances.
My wife and I made the mistake of buying a Bosch washing machine from Home Depot instead of a real appliance dealer.
We made this purchase on 7/5/2020. The first, damaged, washing machine was delivered, by a third-party delivery service, on 7/10/2020. The damage was subtle was concealed by the packaging; but it was bad enough that every load was imbalanced. Home Depot just said that they could not help us. They directed us to contact Bosch.
Over the next 18 months we continued to receive damaged washing machines. About 12 months into this Dan at Monadnock Appliance got involved. Despite the original sale having been made elsewhere.
An undamaged, functional washing machine was finally delivered in December 2021 (by Monadnock Appliance employees in a Monadnock Appliance truck). Without Dan’s help I do not think we would have our appliance.
We will not make this mistake again. Our future appliance purchases will be from Monadnock Appliance.
Thank you again Dan and everyone at...
Read moreThere is no option for purchasing an item here. I bought a washer and dryer from this company and have tried to get in touch with them and they are totally unresponsive. I chose to go there to make my purchase instead of the big box stores for better customer service but there is NO customer service from them at all. I have emailed and called and they have been unable to get in touch with them. When the washer and dryer was delivered they installed them for me but they didn't level them at the same height as each other. There was about 1.5 inches difference in height between them. When I questioned the man about it he said that he would level them so they would be the same height, and he did. I thought that was a basic thing. Anyway, save your money and shop for deals. It's not worth paying extra to go to this appliance store because the customer service is awful. I rarely leave reviews but I want to inform others so they don't make the same...
