I recently had the pleasure of dining here with my daughter and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with the warm, nostalgic ambiance that only a classic diner can offer. The décor, complete with cozy booths and vintage posters, transported me back to a simpler time. It felt like stepping into a scene from a movie. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we felt right at home. She took the time to explain the menu and even shared some of her personal favorites, which we greatly appreciated. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. Now, onto the food – where do I begin? The menu is offering a delightful array of both classic and contemporary diner fare, just the way I like them. You'll have to guess on our main entrees but at the end of our meal we decided to indulge in some dessert – a grilled diner custom made blueberry muffin. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. The blueberry muffin was warm and comforting. What truly set this diner apart, though, was the atmosphere. It wasn't bustling so relaxing, filled with families and friendly people, who all seemed to share our appreciation for this charming spot. The jukebox playing classic hits in the background added to the overall experience, making it a memorable outing for both of us with an iconic photo to prove it! In a world full of fast food chains and impersonal dining experiences, this diner is a refreshing gem. We left with full bellies and big smiles holding a diner made blueberry muffin grilled to go. If you’re looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a nostalgic vibe, look no further. Highly recommended!

I have to say I was extremely disappointed with this visit I have frequented the diner on several occasions and it was always great service great food this particular visit I went at an off time it wasn't too busy the food took way too long to arrive it was a bit cold.... during my time there I had the opportunity to observe a young girl who was waitressing blow her nose right at the front counter pull out her phone out of her back pocket do a couple of things on it put the phone back in her pocket wiped her nose with the back of her hand then proceeded to grab two coffee cups and the coffee pot fill those cups and serve them to two guests I was utterly disgusted and it made me rethink my decision of whether or not I would visit the establishment again... such a disappointment I had often recommended this establishment to many people to which in the future I will refrain from doing so... this picture is from the coffee cup as you can see there are a couple of rings around the inside which is indicative of residues left behind a sign that the mug was not sufficiently cleaned.... very disappointing......

Adorable old school diner with delicious food and expeditious service. Gluten free toast and English muffins available but probably not safe for celiacs. The coffee was subpar though. I had the big boy eggs, meats, potatoes and toast for a fairly reasonable $13 plus $2 for the coffee. Everything was great except the coffee was really weak and it's the first time I'm glad I wasn't offered a refill. I didn't say anything so my bad but they also didn't ask how the meal was. My wife had the Irish omelette with potatoes and GF English muffin. She said it was great and I had her leftovers and can confirm! Overall a really great meal for a reasonable price. Don't waste your money on the coffee.

Burger came with a long hair across the burger, the onion rings had a strong fish taste.

To your response: Well, Ms. General Manager maybe it is time to re-evaluate your techniques as for your expediting and looking over the plating since your waitress took the LONG HAIR from her hand off the burger and said: “Oh my, can I get you something else”. So maybe ask your waitress or perhaps yourself what you did with it. You get hair on your food nad you think someone wants to re-order? Furthermore, I have NEVER been to your diner, so for you to say that this happened in the past is hilarious. Maybe you have better things to do, but I don't than to drive all the way to Rindge (after it was recommended to go there) just to have to leave and find another place. Trust me your place was second choice Flipside is the place to be, but they were on vacation. And as far as the explanation of the onion rings, I told whoever it was perhaps you, that I didn’t need your continued explanation of how you cook onion rings in seafood oil and that was the standard. If you think that is the standard maybe once again re-evaluating your methods in cooking are in order. I asked other restaurants since that visit and have NOT heard that same feedback on how they are cooked. Maybe some people don’t mind the taste and that is fine, however, I don’t like seafood period so having food cooked in that oil should probably be mentioned. Neither of us ever said anything to anyone about any length of time it took to get to the table, so for YOU to turn the entire thing around shows exactly the character and value you have for your customers. I had the ONE and only visit ever to your diner but rest assured it was the last. And one last thing, I am sure you have good plates of food most times, but it wasn't on that day and that was the review. I have the right so say the experience I had. P.S. thank you, good luck in the future and put a...

My wife and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE COMING HERE! We live 2 hours away and we make it an annual destination for breakfast or lunch when we're on our way to Jaffrey to visit a friend of ours. We've been to many diners over the years and the Hometown Diner doesn't disappoint! The staff was very friendly and personable as we entered. It was lunch time and all the booths in the front of the diner were taken but we were immediately offered seats at the counter or a table in a back room . of the diner. We chose the back room. I ordered the turkey dinner from the menu. My wife had an urge for a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich which wasn't on the menu. Our waitress came to take our order and when asked about the possibility of getting a BLT for my wife, she absolutely had no problem in honoring my wife's request! Despite the busy lunch hour, our food was brought to our table within 10-15 minutes which was OUTSTANDING! My turkey dinner was good and very satisfying! My wife enjoyed her BLT as well as the French fries that came with it. We truly enjoyed our "diner" experience... the great staff, the great diner atmosphere and the food! Our waitress went above and beyond in making us feel welcomed and happy with our service and our meals! Although we visit once a year, we truly enjoy this gem of a diner and we're looking forward to our...
