A Fern & a Feather General store — Local services in Ringgold

The owner of this place, Mrs Patti, might just be an angel… Here’s why I think so. My 4yr old son and I were killing time last week while my wife was getting her haircut (2 hours), when we wondered in her general store. Immediately I thought, “my wife would LOVE this place” but I got nervous thinking about my son “looking with his hands” in this beautiful store. Mrs Patti, who was a complete stranger to us at this point, could tell and went right in grandma mode. She took my son around the store, talked Christmas with him and even gave him some rock candy from her shelf. When she asked what my boy wanted from Santa, I knew the answer, “A snow man” he said! (He told Santa in the mall this and Santa’s reply was, “that’s going to be tough living in Chattanooga.” Thanks Santa. Well, Mrs Patti told him it was a great request and then we thanked her for the candy and went on our wondering way. We were maybe 10 yds down the sidewalk when I hear my son’s name being yelled. It was Mrs Patti and she had gone in her store and picked a kids snowman off of her own shelves to give to Jace. She told him “that Santa wanted her to give him that.” The joy on my 4 year olds face y’all!! He has not put “Powder” down. Mrs Patti was the spirit of Christmas to us that day and we hope to pass that along to others this season. All this to say, if you have a chance to go in her store, please know the generous heart of the person that you are buying from. We will definitely be back! Thank you...

Was in town October 2025. Stopped in this wonderful small town jewel. I got t to meet the owner ,a wonderful lady. Sorry I can't remember names. I purchased a book, ZENITH MAN. kudos to Mr. McCracken Post Jr. The owner called this extraordinary author, he came in the store and autographed my book. THANK YOU .....
