Ok so first, the pros:
The two ladies working were extremely nice. I ordered the club sandwich and they made sure I was getting everything I wanted on it, and the sandwich ended up being very fresh and delicious. Exactly what I wanted for lunch, so all good there. I can't exactly speak for beverage quality since I got an iced americano (just espresso and water. Which wasn't an iced option on the menu, by the way. Just an observation). The espresso didn't blow my mind but it was solid. Can't really screw up an americano!

The VIBE, man! Or lack thereof. This place does not feel like a coffee shop, it's not really the type of place that inspires you to want to hang out. It's dead quiet inside, for one thing. I know music licenses are expensive but in my opinion that's money well spent. It's also set back into the building away from the street and there aren't really windows close to the cafe so it's lit by flourescent tube lights. All of this lends the feeling of some sort of waiting room at a doctors office rather than a local coffee shop.
Anyways the employees could not have been nicer and I do hate to be critical but this place just doesn't have the coffee shop mojo, in my opinion. It's fine to pop in for a quick bite to eat but they desperately need to liven...
Read moreThis is a charming place with lots of room to sit and visit with friends, or find a quiet place to to just chill out and relax. There is a lot of history in this unique and historical building and the owner is welcoming, friendly and willing to share the many interesting stories. Denni, the owner, is also an excellent baker!! She makes homemade cinnamon rolls everyday along with quite a few other pastries and goodies! My friends and I shared a cinnamon roll and a croissant stuffed full of delicious melted chocolate!! (they heat it up for you!!) The coffee is equally delicious. I had an iced brown sugar oatmilk latte......hmmmmmm!! I enjoyed and savored every sip. We had such a lovely time sipping, indulging in the pastries and visiting with Denni that when it was time to leave...we left wishing we have more time to visit and room in our stomachs to indulge just a bit more. If you are anywhere near - stop in and treat yourself.....and tell our new friend...
Read moreWe ordered two caramel vanilla hazelnut coffee and got a cup of syrup and iced milk. They were not a bit friendly when we came in and no one spoke. The guy took our order and could not get coffee machine to work. The lady came and helped him and I watched as an inch of syrup when in the small cups and then a drizzle of coffee and a drizzle is saying a lot. He filled the cup with some milk and when it wasn't full he just added more milk. Worst coffee we have ever had just syrup milk. When I ran my card he walked off. The machine never did anything and he never offered any kind of receipt or acknowledgement. We walked out and the staff just stared at us. They may be known for their desserts, but that's about all. There was definitely a lack of southern hospitality. We will...
