I agree with the other posts that you truly get for what you pay for with this gym. This gym is smaller than standard gyms, meaning that there is truly only about 1-2 of everything (e.g. one Smith Machine, one squat rack, etc.). The free weights and machine take up one half of the gym, while cardio takes up the other half. A lot of my time at this gym is ensuring I get to the machine/ area I want to be.
There isnāt a lot of space to do any ab work or to warm up away from the free weight section, so you have to do ab work in the group fitness room. However, if there is a class in the group fitness room, you have to find somewhere else to do abs or stretch.
Aside from lack of space, there is a lack of cleanliness. Not every member wipes down the machine after use and because there are so little options of machines, people just immediately hop on a machine, without wiping down. I find myself cleaning before and after I use equipment (more than I typically do).
People are nice and friendly. Staff is nice. I would say that I feel that weeknights lean towards a very young crowd more than other gyms in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo things I would recommend you before making this your permanent gym. One - definitely come and tour the place with an employee. See if you're OK with what they offer and how much you're paying for it. This gym is totally affordable but you get what you pay. This location has very limited amenities. There is no walk in locker room. The machines are worn out, some of which have no grip to make them useful. The free weight section is very small, four people fit at most. It gets crowded, and it's more noticeable because of the small space available. Two - read the contract. This gym like many other gyms use ABC financial. In my opinion has really bad customer service. I had to pay $50 to cancel my membership. They didn't want to be clear with me on how to cancel my membership. I had to go back and forth via email to pull the information out of them. Overall the experience here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe saying āyou get what you pay forā has never been more true. I belong to another gym, and joined Fitness 19 because the price was so low and the hours seemed better for me on the weekends. That is all true however they actually have to open on time for me to be able to take advantage of those more accommodating hours. Got there this morning, September 28 at 5 to 7, they are supposed to open at 7 oāclock. I had an hour in my schedule to work out, I wound up leaving at 7:15 with 16 people standing outside a locked front door. No work out for me. Equipment is ok, lot of the benches are ripped and the fluorescent lighting is kinda low giving it a little bit of a āghettoā vibe. Again, you get what you pay for, but not even sure this is worth the $9.65 a month if they donāt...
