Valley Burgers and Brew — Restaurant in River Vale

Very disappointed with our experience, however, it is funny to say the least. My boyfriend suggested this place to me as he knew of it and thought it would be a good place for date night. We traveled 40 minutes to get there and although we were seated quickly, our meals took about an hour to come out. My boyfriend received his food earlier than me and they even got the order wrong. The food wasn't that great and on top of this happening, our waiter comes to tell us shortly after we ordered our food that he quit his job and proceeded to walk out the door due to complications with the manager. We also experienced trouble with the bathroom doors as they tended to get jammed and both of us separately got locked in the bathroom for 5 minutes before unjamming the door. "Soft opening" for the next few weeks. Getting everything up and running. In that context: Margherita bar pie was delicious (we would cook the crust a little crisper, but that's personal preference and flavor was great!). Good beer menu. Respectable array of "familiars" AND five craft beers from local breweries AND $4 pints of Narragansett and PBR. Can't beat that menu. Local craft beers and menu look like they can change from week to week, which is great. ABVs should be on the menu for crafts. Not just a "beer place". Really liked what we assumed was the "house" pinot grigio (we looked at the label, but can't remember the name!) Liked the decor and the relaxed vibe....

Wanted to give 5 stars, sadly can't. The food here was awesome and so was the service. The dining space was nicely decorated. We started off with the pretzel sticks, and were quite pleased with them. The burgers were thick and juicy and perfectly cooked with really nice bread and toppings. My biggest hang ups, the floors are in desperate need of a good cleaning... Only 1 other table was occupied the entire time we were there (not busy enough to excuse the mess). The other thing... 6.50-7.50 for a draft beer? It's just too much, especially for domestics.
