I have shot all these since their first store in the United States that was located in Des Moines iowa! To say I am a loyal dedicated die hard all defense is to put it mildly
I rarely return items and was forced to return several Dairy items and some vegetables which was very disappointing because most of my Aldi produce and dairy is usually consumed far before the expiration date or the double guarantee money back.
On this particular evening I encountered for store associates just to get the refund for the items that have truly gone bad before their expiration date which I pointed out several times to all four clerks! The store manager was the last one that I encountered or she said she was the store manager in the evening or the highest ranking manager for that evening and I was not given my double guarantee because she said that because it was a milk product or a dairy product that I was not and should not be given the double guarantee and I was very upset and pointed out to them that if it's open, and before the expiration date, and the policy of the double guarantee money back, she got confrontation-ally argumentative, with very inflammatory statements, and piss poor excuses for the double guarantee. When I explain to this individual who professed to be of management status, that I would not be returning to that store, she said that was my decision and I got my money back I should be happy!
So I will tell you, this encounter is one of the worst customer focused Aldi's that I have EVER encountered.
Given the fact that I have shopped at Aldi's since 1984, with my immigrant permanent resident grandfather, truly such a fond memory being able to go grocery shopping with my grandfather, now very much totally reconsider my opinion of the corporation!
Lidl I'm told is a wonderful place to shop and does the honor their own store philosophy and guarantee! Granny they are little further out of the way but I share this with you and hopes that you will maybe either have better customer service experience and policy and guarantee that I did or was given in that store or consider this and boycott all these going forward to go to Lidl! They honor their commitments and guarantee to their customers!
For example, I bought heavy whipping cream, which everybody is certainly aware of the very longevity of that product usually in every store it's about a month and a half to two months out, but I was told it was milk and it was opened and it was in my refrigerator and I should be happy that I got a refund even though it was under 15 days from the date on the receipt! And mind you, I was giving the refund, for half and half that expired before the expiration date, I should just thank my lucky stars that I was given a refund even though the heavy whipping cream and the half and half stunk so bad, and was curdled a week out prior to the expiration date on both, that's the double - guaranteed from this official Aldi Store! Not to mention as I showed the clerk the butter was discolored significantly and the eggs which had an expiration date of 2 months out or discolored as well! Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn 9/14/23 upon checking out the cashier Aungunette noticed that I had an egg broken in the carton and, told me to get another carton of eggs. So I proceeded to the back of the store to retrieve the carton of eggs. As I was about to bag the groceries that had been paid for I was stop by the security guard. He aggressively asked me "What was I doing?" I explained to him that I had a broken egg in a carton and the cashier gave me permission to retrieve another carton of eggs. He then when on a rant about how it was common sense to leave my cart full of paid groceries unattended at the front of the store while I retrieved the eggs. I explained to him that nobody said anything to me about leaving my paid groceries at the front of the store. He also implied that I could have stolen groceries while retrieving the carton of eggs. He was extremely loud causing unnecessary attention and he embarrassed me in front of the whole store. I ask him if he would like to check my receipt and compare it to the groceries I had in my shopping cart. He said no and continued to provoke the situation by saying " itās just common sense everybody knows that. " He also decided to have a conversation with another customer while I was standing there bagging my groceries about what just happened. At this point I was frustrated and had enough. I asked to speak with a manager and told him that I will be getting in contact with corporate because his behavior is an excusable and unprofessional. He then told me "I can do what I want". His tone was boastful ,carefree and extremely rude. I hope no else has to go through this type of embarrassment while grocery shopping. Iām truly sad because I love Aldiās grocery stores but this one what the worst one I have ever been...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in the store to get 4 items. I knew I could carry them with my hands so I didnāt get a cart. As usual while checking out the cashier puts my items in the cart thatās already at the register. I paid for my items and before I could take them out the cart the cashier starts putting the items of the customer behind me in the cart as well. This resulted in the customer being so close to me I could feel her breathing on my neck. So I grabbed the cart to move it over to the long table so I can grab my items. The cashier snatches the cart so fast yelling āMY CARTā. Had the impatient cashier waited at least 30 seconds after checking me out to let me grab my items I wouldnāt have felt the need to grab the cart so I can walk away and pick up my items in peace. Word of advice if a customer checks out without a basket at least give them 30 seconds to grab their items so they arenāt forced into close proximity with strangers. I had to pick over the strangers items in order to get mine out. Itās COVID and monkey pox all around. I stayed my 6 feet away from everyone during my shopping experience because itās safe and to have the impatient cashier carelessly start putting another customers items on top of mine less than 30 seconds after checkout because she has no patience is ridiculous. She could have and should have waited. All around horrible experience and hopefully I never have to go to this...
