Heat pump and exterior coil were installed in early 2020 after we were told “this is just best to just replace,” due to “leaks” that couldn’t be found. Not the price I really wanted to pay, (still paying it off) but with a, then, pregnant wife and 10 degree temps - Panther was the only HVAC contractor that could get it done next day - we went ahead and pulled the trigger. Kudos to them, huh?! Such great customer service! So, Panther replaced the air handler in the crawl space and the exterior coil but not the zone control system. No duct work was replaced either. To my knowledge, no permit was pulled - no duct leakage test completed (being as over 25% of the system was replaced, seems as though that would be necessary). Best part, the techs that came out sealed nothing (I mean NOTHING) with mastic or tape. Flex duct was just slid back over the collars and left that way. We have nest thermostats, so I declined having them install the one that came with the package we bought, but I even had to ask for it because they neglected to bring that out in hopes of using it elsewhere. $$$. We trusted they knew what they were doing, as they were recommended by a friend. Low and behold 4 months go by, Covid hits, we have a baby by this point, and our hardwood floors start loudly popping directly above the air handler location in the crawl. Three weeks into May of 2020: the hardwoods were rolling like waves, and pushed across the entire back half of the house. Humidity levels were at 65+ inside our house, and the air handler had produced so much condensation that it was already rusting and dripping puddles. Don’t get me started on the mold growth. I then seal the crawl space vents, clean, install a dehumidifier, and pull up the hardwoods one by one to reinstall them. Never said anything to Panther because, hey, shame on me for not checking, I’ll figure it out. Fast forward to June 2022. Exterior fan runs continuously, no cold air comes out of duct work. Happens at the same time almost every day, but flipping the heat breaker tends to fix it, until the end of July, when it doesn’t. We call Panther on a Saturday, who sends out their best and brightest for $179 to do a diagnostic test (since we were outside of the one year labor warranty). Literally the cleanest HVAC tech I’ve ever witnessed. Tech supposedly doesn’t have the correct equipment to do his job, but continues to push us to add refrigerant for $400 because there’s a leak, that he couldn’t find, or they would come back out with the leak tester (free of charge) later in the week. Tech was here 30 minutes, conveniently the system was running when he left, so we agreed. Three days later, they send the same kid out and the second thing out of his mouth was “it’s gonna be $208 for the leak test.” I told him to leave. They send out another experienced guy the next day, for free, who says there is no leak at all. Since I was at work, my wife asks him to check out the dampers as they may be remaining closed when air is called for. He does some “adjustments” says the dampers were the problem, and leaves. Air is on, all good.
Now here we are, 2 days later, with no AC. So today I crawl around in the crawlspace to find that there was no cut or pulled back ductwork from the collars where dampers are. Call me naive, but I’m not sure how you can fully confirm the damper wasn’t stuck, or didn’t have the potential to be stuck in any location, without doing that. The panel on the heatpump was never opened (I painted the mastic on a year ago, I would know). I don’t know what either guy actually did. I have nothing but nice things to say about the ladies in the office, they were respectful and helpful. This whole rant is more so directed at whoever runs this place - it’s obvious money is what matters. I’ll pray for you.

Read moreMy husband and I decided to make the stressful investment of new heat/air and a tankless water heater. We had several companies come out to give a quote and unnecessary equipment was quoted and over priced. We new our water heater was about to fail, our AC was running constantly and our utility bill was ENORMOUS. This August I decided to start the process of finding another company that could do the install. I didn't read reviews about Panther HVAC I just had a feeling. I called wanting to learn more about geothermal, Trane systems and tankless water heater options. Not only did I get answers but I was even told Mike, the owner would be happy to speak with us as well. I gave the office assistant my husbands number so Mike could further go over options. Within 30 minutes Mike called my husband. A few days later we had a knowledgeable associate come out on a Saturday and go over everything with us. He inspected our AC, furnace and water heater. We worked together to decide how we wanted to invest equipment into our home and I worked out how much we would save in utility bills vs cost of equipment. Throughout the whole process we were able to get answers to all questions without stress or intimidation. We made the decision to go with Panther HVAC and within a week the project got started. Every single employee from Panther who came thru our door was the utmost respectful and professional. They worked hard and was very efficient and kept us in the loop the entire time. We are PROUD owners of not only a new heat/air system, tankless water heater but also a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier is amazing! Panther HVAC representative came out the last day of install and went thru the entire process of how everything works. He was able to explain everything step by step without any of it being overwhelming. Our utility bill dropped significantly in the months following. A few days ago we had a water leak in our crawl space. My husband thought it was coming from the tankless water heater so we called Panther HVAC which was sometime after 8 pm. Within 10 minutes the owner called us and said he was on his way and asked if we shut the water off from the main and offered to explain the process. After Mike called a second employee called as well. After hours Mike came in found the problem. It was obviously a problem on our end and had nothing to do with the install months back. Mike called a plumber out for us and he stayed and helped repair the leak. This wasn't even his problem it was ours and he stayed, he helped, he got the plumber for us, he didn't complain, he was respectful, humble and so kind to us. He even connected us with a crawl space company that would come inspect the home. You don't find service like this often. Panther HVAC takes great pride in their work, their employees, their service, their equipment and all the other trades they work with. I am thankful we have an HVAC company that is locally owned and who operates their business the way Panther does. If you want a new heat and air system Panther is...
