This shop has everything one could want or need to continue their needlepoint or learn a whole new hobby (like I did)! They offer a huge selection of fibers in all colors and multiple combinations. There are usually 1 to 2 trunk shows to shop from with a standing discount of 20% off all trunk show purchases. They also have books, lights, stands, finishing options, private lessons and sometimes offer classes for purchase with well known needlepoint teachers. The clubhouse staff know their craft well and clearly have a passion for needlepoint! The needlepoint clubhouse welcomes switchers to come in and stitch together and share projects, tips, and ideas. I have never met a more welcoming group of people than the stichers that frequent this shop. The clubhouse is centrally located and offers varying hours that have been quite accommodating. I especially like their Wednesday night's Stitch & Swirl where they serve wine to their visiting stitchers for the evening! Great...
Read moreGreat selection. I had a great experience working with Berkeley.
However, today, on a Sunday, I went in for help not realizing they were closed for regular business. I spoke to the woman at the counter who DID NOT MENTION that the store was closed. I peeked in on the group in the back and a woman rudely said “We’re closed.” I said, “I know, I’m here to finish a project, not to join your class,” She reiterated, as she stood up as if to block me from the classroom, as if I had an iQ of 25, “No, we’re closed for business.”
If your door is unlocked, the woman at the front desk was willing to help me (having told me to check out samples by the classroom) and I failed to realize you were closed, is that something to shame me for doing?
I will not be back. Sign of the Arrow is a St. Louis mainstay. I don’t recall them being so condescending and rude, like the one woman who ruined Needlepoint...
Read moreMy first impression was great. Super helpful and spent the time helping me find all of the threads for my stocking project. I purchased everything and was going to have them paint a name on the stocking and was told it would take 1 week when I asked and cost $10.00. It actually took 4 weeks and cost $25.00. When I called after two weeks asking for an update and whoever answered the phone was really snotty about the fact I was calling and I very kindly just said "I was told a week so I wanted to follow up". After spending $500.00 on this project and to be treated that way, I don't believe I will be returning and will go elsewhere to have it "finished" when I have...
