After spending 75 bucks on the worse indian/ nepalese food I’ve ever had here’s my 2 cents. We ordered 4 dishes because the ratings were so goood. Fried Chicken and Veg Momos Vegetable Chowmein Chicken Fried Rice Chilli Paneer

Number 1, the momos which are apparently “chef’s special” were the literal worse. I’ve had frozen store bought momos that are better than these. Number2: the vegetable chowmein tasted citrusy like a lot of vinegar was used. And not to mention the amount of OIL that was used in the food. All the noodles that were overcooked were dripping in oil. Number3: chicken fried rice was the only dish that was edible, but again the whole rice was wet with oil. Number4: we ordered chilli paneer with extra gravy, and guess what I recieved? More oil instead of the gravy, the paneer cubes were floating and the masal gravy was burnt. As someone with high cholesterol this food could have been the literal death of me had I eaten these dishes. Even after telling the chef about these issues, our dishes had the same degraded quality. We left all the five dishes as it was, but had to still pay 75$ for the food I didn’t consume.

PS: No one else was there apart from us. And the waitress was...

Some of the best takeout I've ever had, period. Ordered in after two weeks at home with respiratory illness (not COVID). It was such a nice treat to myself and exactly the comfort I needed.

I had the King Prawn, which the menu stated came with yellow lentil soup, but there was no soup included. The four large prawns were delicious, shell-on, garlicky, buttery, with a dipping sauce that I think was just mayo. I also had veggie pakora, and had enough to have leftovers the next day. And I fell in love with Baingan Bharta, an eggplant, onion, and tomato dish that comes with rice. The depth of flavors and the balance of spices was incomparable. It was a restaurant experience at home. I had leftovers of that dish, as well.

I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future, and trying to check them out in person when that's possible. Left a glowing Facebook review because in two years in STL, I had never heard of them until I saw them on Uber Eats. They deserve more...

I have recently started ordering form this restaurant. I have been to multiple Indian restaurants in StLouis and in United States , But this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried.

Service..... yes . Customer is king . They do treat customer like a king like any other Indian restaurants. 2. Taste : Ask for what you exactly need . The chefs in this restaurant are very good and they can customize your meal as per your taste and spice levels. Ask exactly what you want and you get the feast. Menu: they have a good range of items included in their menu. Say its veg or non veg , north Indian and napalese The options are re good. Value for what you pay : unlike any other restaurant Himalayan hut has right quantity for the price you pay.

It a worth trying Restaurant in stl area. Do mention in notes if any special instructions.. you would...

I ordered kheer for desert. As soon as I opened the container, there was a pungent smell and you could see water separating from the milk and flowing around the corners. The top was covered with a yellow colored coagulated cheese looking particles, like it does when milk goes old. It was sour to taste and just did not smell good at all. I called the manager since this is not safe and can cause anyone to become sick. He said the kheer was prepared 2 days ago but it does not smell bad. Please be careful when you order from this restaurant and check your food before eating.

Update: I've been back many times now with lots of different people, and the food is still awesome! The hostess/waitress (she did both roles) was so nice and attentive! The food was great, too. It's been a while since I've had Nepalese food, and they did not disappoint. I like that you can get chai sweet or unsweetened; they have sugar at the table so you can sweeten to preference. Steamed momos were perfect. I got the vegetable ones, and they were juicy and filling. I was here solo for lunch, but I'll have to come back with my husband!
