I went there for my birthday today because of their newly built playground, as a mom it’s hard to enjoy a hot meal so figured seating outside by the playground would at least give 5 minutes to enjoy my meal. Well, I regret that decision with every fiber in my body. It took our waitress just over 10 minutes to greet us and another almost 15 minutes just to get our waters and sodas. She seemed busy which was understandable as their patio was a bit crowded. When taking our order she did mention she was newer so I tried to give her some grace. I ordered the nachos as an appetizer, when they came out, they seemed to have been sitting for quite a long time. Our server never brought us plates, and when I asked, it took her way longer than it should have, again, I tried to give her grace understanding that she is newer. Our dinner took almost 45 minutes to come out, at first it didn’t bother me because my friends were joining so it almost bought us more time while she arrived. Well when our food came out, I would be generous if I said my food was luke warm. I ordered the barbacoa tacos and the edges of the tortilla were hard either from sitting under the window lamps toasting, or from sitting out for so long they started to dry out. When I picked up the taco to eat it the tortilla just fell apart. The meat was flavorless and dry. The rice looked so dry, I honestly didn’t even bother to try it. The street corn was just okay, probably the best part of the meal. After I had a few bites, I asked the waitress for salt, it took so long I actually had to ask the other servers around for salt. I ordered chicken tenders for one of my kids and what came out were Dino chicken nuggets, which does not say anywhere on the menu. They were so over done and dry. I ordered a quesadilla for another one of my kids, specified it came with a side, to which I picked rice. The waitress also offered to bring the chicken on the side since my kids have never eaten a quesadilla with meat inside of it. Well it still came out with chicken inside, but luckily they liked. We also got the side of chicken I’m guessing instead of the rice, the chicken looked extremely dry and overdone, no one even touched it. I asked my waitress about the rice but somehow she got us French fries, again probably a better choice than the rice just by luck. Our server kept disappearing for long periods of time. Tables around us kept getting up and going inside to ask for things. Once my friend joined she also had to wait nearly 15 for her to be able to order. At that point they realized a lot of us didn’t eat majority of our food so all they got was an order of queso and water. Well the waters took forever to arrive, and once the queso came she didn’t bother to bring chips for them. They had to go inside and use what I guess is a self serve station with chips and salsa. The manager walked by and asked how everything was but this was when we were having our appetizer, another time he walked by when we had a bunch of plates stacked up and he didn’t even bother to pick those up. So that honestly, to me, was a sign that even if I brought up the issues, he couldn’t have cared less. Tables around us also had plates stacked up and neither the manager walking around or busser bothered to pick up. The lack of team work in that restaurant is just sad. I had to ask my waitress several times for a to go box. Never offered refills on waters or sodas, or if my mom wanted another margarita. She was friendly but the service was just about the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve worked in the industry, and you know it takes a lot for someone from the industry to even consider giving a bad review. The queso dip and the refried beans on the nachos were good which is the only reason I even considered a one star on the food. It was a nice patio with a nice playground but that’s about it. I didn’t even bother to mention the birthday or even ordered dessert because I was just waiting for my friends to get done so I could get as far away...
Read moreWe were drawn in by the fact that they had a fenced in outdoor playscape. This was the worst dining experience we've ever had. We were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table, but it took 40 minutes as we tried to be more than patient before we finally asked the hostess about our seating. Once seated, it took another 10 minutes for our server to arrive, who immediately tried to upsell us on alcoholic drinks and appetizers.
We ordered a sangria, a margarita, and guacamole. After another 10 minutes, the server returned with our drinks but refused to provide a kids' cup for my 4-year-old, claiming they didn't have any. Naturally, my child spilled her drink all over the table, and our server never returned to notice or help clean up. We later saw that every single table outside had styrofoam cups with lids and straws—clearly, kids' cups were available. Must have been too much of a hassle for our server to participate in.
After 25 minutes with no appetizer, I asked if it was on its way, and the server seemed confused as if we had never ordered it. Despite trying to be understanding, we were consistently disappointed by her lack of attentiveness. Not once did we receive a refill on our drinks. When our main courses finally arrived—at the same time as the appetizer—the meal was subpar.
The guacamole was the only thing that was even worth eating. The salsa was disgusting and tasted like a rip off of the Taco Bell taco sauce not like a salsa at all. The kids chicken nuggets were Dino nuggets, not made in house at all besides for the awful job they did frying them. They were so overdone that they were inedible. If I had the opportunity to even have our server ask us how the food was I would’ve asked her to take them back because my daughter wasn’t able to even eat one of them . Then, my chimichanga that was supposed to be fried was soggy and the rice was so dry that it was inedible as well. This was a complete waste of money and we left feeling hungry and exhausted from the awful experience.
I wanted to order a dessert, but instead, our server dropped off the check and started walking away. Not even a simple can I get you anything else? How was your food? NOTHING. Just a quick toss of the check on to our table and she started walking away.
Also, without offering us dessert or even asking if we needed boxes for our leftovers. I had to stop her just to request some, I’m not sure why I wanted to bring the food home to be honest we all had more than half of our food left and all of my daughters nuggets left because it was so awful, but going out and spending so much money, I just hate to be wasteful. By that point of having to stop her from running away from our table after tossing the check at us and, after such a frustrating and rushed experience, I decided not to bother with dessert at all.
I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for good service or a pleasant dining experience. We will never be back.

Read moreWhen this was located in Overland this was my first job, this founded my love for authentic mexican food. I decided to go because the venu looked amazing and I felt the nostaliga and had the urge. I was exctited from, the outside this looked amazing. Tables lined outside, paintings on the wall. Part of me felt like home. I was impressed with the opening layout but as we ventured futher inside it became depressing.
The floor was covered in old restraunt carpet and seriously needed an update. Where we were sat was the carpet looks like a table of kids somewhat exploded thier food all over, there were clear scrapes of sour cream across the carpet. Let me just say that my server was excellent, but the food and cleanliness of the restraunt was a mess. Our glasses for margaritas were dirty, and it honestly looked like they just poured it in to another glass.
They did not even use another frosted glass, but a soda glass. We ordered appetizers but those came out after a kitchen memeber brought us very DRY looking entrees. There was a bit of time between the two order. I have worked in restraunts, I always order at two different times, just to get it incase. But the Entrees were out, dry and not siziling like the displays we saw for everyone else this was something more disappointing. I honestly said I would not eat that it was dry looking like it had been slapped up on the counter but the time that it came out felt like they had piles of precooked shrimp, steak and chicken ready to just be scooped on to plates and severd up in a cafeteria style. This felt way to quickly to be just made after the order was placed in.
I understand rice, and refried beans are constantly cooked in the restraunt. I stated I worked her prior but it felt to me like the catering aspect was something being used in the restraunt. This was not fresh at all. this was dry and both plates were out in just under minutes.
After that the server brought out our appetizers, he was not the only one dissapointed and went to have a talk with the kitchen staff. Our appetizers were alright, I asked for jalepenos to be inside of the quesadilla with the chicken. Not a big deal it was just peeled back and shoved inside after cooking.
Wings were small but still had great flavor, the quesadilla was nearly how I remembered it. Iove how they use Cheddar and Montery Jack on most things throughout the meal. When we finished out food came out. The Trio Fajita dish came out sizziling like everyone elses and it looked very appetizing, mine was a little less looking but the taste was still there.
Our server went above and beyond for us and was obviously over worked with how much he was running. Tipped him for his awesome service but one man does not make...
