I have shopped here for quite a few years, from, especially with being in emergency services. I've had a decent experience at both stores, including my most recent purchase. The salesman was pretty helpful, and even called the Jefferson County store to check on the boots I was purchasing. Even though I was up there for work, I don't go to St. Peters much, so I asked if the boots could be shipped to the Jefferson County store. He said it wouldn't be a problem, but wanted them coming to their store, and if I couldn't make it up there, then they could have them sent down to the other store (doesn't make sense, but okay). Then, I'm told they will arrive in 8-10 business days. On day 12, I hadn't heard from anyone at St. Peters, so I drive there. The lady at the front desk wasn't very helpful, except to pull my order card, and tell me they're not in. Then she said they need to call to check on the boots, which I thought she might do while I was still there, (not the case, and not much effort in after order customer service). As of today, it's been 14 business days, and I haven't even gotten a customer service call, letting me know they contacted the boot company, and the staus of my order. I like the company, which is the reason for the 4 stars. I even speak highly of the company, and have for a long time. Don't want to give up, so maybe I need to stick with the store in JeffCo. Sorry, but the customer service from this recent experience has been rather disappointing. ...................................... Within a day of the company hearing of my experience, they reached out to me, and contacted the boot company to find out why my order hasn’t arrived yet. Thank you Shawn, for making the call (actually twice now), ad for the follow up. It’s a mess with the boot manufacturer, but the store manager from Chuck’s boots is working to resolve the...
Read moreWent in yesterday 6/11/25 and I hadn't visited the store in a few years looking for motorcycle boots. I was shocked that they don't carry Frye boots anymore at all, they have no selection of motorcycle boots unless you're wanting to place an order but at that point it's cheaper just to get it on Amazon. I talked to staff and they advised me that they are moving away from the motorcycle gear entirely but seemed less than interested in helping me than ordering their lunch, they just said I should find somewhere that sells motorcycle gear and they didn't have any suggestions for me. Very disappointed with the customer service, I've spent thousands of dollars with Chuck's and I'll say I'll never be going back sadly. And I'd advise any other rider to avoid them as well. they had a very small selection of vests unless you're XXL and up even though they said they just got a big delivery? They aren't carrying helmets anymore just some basics, not like they used to. Drove 50 minutes and the staff just said oh well. If I was the owner or GM I'd be asking my staff why they are more interested in their lunch while standing behind a counter with a customer who came to spend a lot of money telling them that they're getting out of that business and to find someplace else. I'm sorry I used to love this store 2016-2022 I'm not sure what's happened. No work wear, no motorcycle gear, and ostracizing customers. It's sad. Could've redeemed a one star with good staff but that unfortunately isn't the case here at...
Read moreFirst I went to their competitor which was recommended by my employer. I needed steel toe ESD shoes. They had exactly one pair in my size. Then on a whim I called Chuck's. They told me they had 20-25 different styles of what I needed, and most in many sizes. When I got there, the number of steel toe ESD styles was probably 30-35, and they had my size in almost all of them. The staff was really nice, and I ended up with a really nice pair of Timberland's. (Branston) Best of all when I got home I checked Amazon, and they were at or within $5 of Amazon, who amazingly had every size but mine in my exact shoe. Major bonus. I didn't have time to browse all the other stuff, but good lord, but they had some very cool stuff. And I can tell you they were busy, and yes sometimes you don't get an associate to cater to your every whim. The people on here complaining have probably never worked retail. (I have.) Their return policy is pretty tight. You can't bring back shoes that have obvious wear. I can live with that. People abuse return policies, is all I can say, coming from experience. I wore my shoes around the store for half an hour looking at all the other cool stuff, and then wore them home. I won't be bringing them back, they are perfect. Chalk one up for local retail. Thanks Mike and staff. I'll be back, and will send other...
