Horrible encounter with man at donation drop off!
Never in my life have I been treated so poorly and unprompted by an employee. As someone who’s worked customer service— there is NO reason to ever treat a customer that way. Especially on items that are free.
He shamed me and chastised me for not putting my things in bags and boxes before bringing them. Some items were too big and they usually go in a bin when they get there so I was unaware of this rule. So he could have left it at “Hey, next time if you don’t mind__”
Instead he continued on and on about it and when another customer pulled up to drop off, thanked him and put emphasis on the fact it was in a box and it’s so helpful. Then made a comment to him about how I will be there forever, when I was literally done and maybe at THE MOST had been there 2 minutes. I could say word for word everything he said but he was horrible. It’s sad because the lady there that helped me had always been so friendly and so I kept going there for drop offs— she had never mentioned that rule before so I simply didn’t know. There is a fine line between educating and shaming. That was terrible.
Considering this year alone I’ve donated 10 times at least and just because of this I will be finding another...
Read moreWas in there last Friday... Not at all impressed with the customer service the younger guy had to offer, he definitely clearly hates the fact that he has to be there, which I understand, but he's in customer service; it's a basic requirement to be friendly; soo...ahem. one wording as responses in a monotone, blank expression to match, kinda unacceptable... Maybe go for a factory job, bud?
BUT; The older woman, reddish brown hair? #blessherheart. She made not only I, but various others feel as if we were shopping at a friend's or something. Had many enjoyable short-lived talks while there and she was a treat to encounter. Now she's one helluva worker, never stopped moving and restocking items, while everyone else, extremely younger too, stood around chatting with another behind the registers...
Goodwill? You'd be silly not to acknowledge her hard work and reward it. She was from my trip experience? The only worker ya had that day and the only friendly one too at...
Read moreDisappointed in the lack of professionalism during my first donation experience here.
I wasn’t familiar with the donation procedure, and when I arrived, another truck was unloading at the ramp. I parked on the opposite side where there was plenty of space, thinking it was acceptable. Instead of politely explaining the correct process, the first employee rudely told me to “wait my turn” without offering any helpful guidance.
Shortly after, another staff member came out with a cart. I thought she was going to assist, but she immediately began pointing and sternly telling me I needed to turn around and drive back through—again, with a rude tone and no explanation.
I didn’t argue or even get a chance to speak. Their attitudes and approach were unprofessional and unwelcoming. A simple, respectful explanation would have gone a long way. I chose to leave and will be donating to other organizations in the future that treat donors with more courtesy and...
