I recently inherited a diamond pendant necklace and diamond earrings. The earrings were appraised in 2008 for $1500. I wanted to upgrade the earrings and thought if I traded in the earrings I could use that money to purchase a larger diamond and combine it with the diamond in the pendant and I could have upgraded earrings.

I took these items to a local jeweler who told me my diamond earrings were of very poor quality and that he would not be able to give me very much for them. This made me uncomfortable as I knew that to be untrue. He then told me that for $3800 he would sell me a new 0.70 ctw diamond that would match the diamond in my pendant and make my new earrings.

I went to Christopher for a second opinion. He put each of my diamond earrings under a microscope which was reflected onto his computer screen to show me that my diamonds were actually of very nice quality now appraising for $4000! He then took the time to place a diamond of much lesser quality under his microscope so I could actually see the difference between these diamonds. Christopher educated me on the fact that you never get even close to full value when you trade in jewelry. He asked If I had thought of using the diamonds from my earrings to create a new custom piece of jewelry. I thought that was a great idea! He suggested purchasing a new diamond of same size and quality as my pendant to create my new earrings. Christopher charged me $2100, which was $1700 less than the other local jeweler, and I also got to see my new diamond under magnification on the computer screen.

I was impressed by both the time and patience Christopher gave me. Christopher is the best jeweler I have ever had the opportunity to work with. He is honest, patient, skilled, open to input, and extremely personable.. I worked with him to design an engagement/wedding ring combo that was exactly as I envisioned it. He offered advice and sketched out precisely what I wanted, then made it even more exquisitely than I thought possible. After seeing her ring, my fiance at the time spoke with Christopher and he designed what can only be described as my "crown." I almost wept when I saw my ring as I had never seen anything that fabulous; and it was mine. I later had Christopher make my wife a pair of earrings for her wedding gift and he found a fantastic deal on a pair of princess cut diamonds that he set perfectly to match her ring setting, making for quite a sparkly bride. His prices are very reasonable and I always get much more than I pay for. In an industry where it's hard to not be exploited as a customer, Christopher assures me that not only am I getting high quality merchandise, but at a much less inflated price than I had expected. Both my mother and new mother-in-law were so impressed by his skill that they have become fiercely loyal to Christopher, having him design and remake their wedding rings and many other pieces. During our interactions, Christopher and I have become friendly and I consider him among my closest associates and recommend him to everyone. My engagement and wedding rings were custom made by a family friend living in Texas 38 years ago. Eventually they were soldered together, and two jewelers "worked" on the soldered ring over the years. It was a lovely ring, and I received many compliments over the years, but I was never really happy with the ring itself. It looked "cobbled" together if you looked at it closely. Arthritis took its toll on my hands and the ring had to be cut off. My husband knew of Christopher's craftmanship from working with him professionally. My husband said if the ring was going to be updated, Christopher was the craftsman. How right he was! We took the ring to Christopher, and he immediately began drawing a design. We had some other gold jewelry and some diamonds that Christopher used to create the new ring. When we picked up the ring, my husband and I were in awe of the design!
