I walked in while the assistant manager was helping another customer. Like I’ve done many times before, I went to get ice using my own container. This has become part of my regular routine because the first time I ever did it, I asked if it was okay—and was told yes. So I wasn’t hiding anything, just doing what I’d been doing.
By the time I was leaving, the customer he was helping had gone—and that’s when he suddenly came at me from behind the counter with aggression, accusing me of “taking” ice. I calmly responded that I had my own container, and I’d been told it was okay. But instead of asking a simple question like, “Hey, did you just grab ice?”, he chose to speak to me with disrespect and hostility.
I wasn’t yelling. I wasn’t being rude. I was confused—because this wasn’t about ice, it was about the way he chose to speak to me. And it escalated unnecessarily. I even told him, “Let me go grab money from the car,” came back in, and paid for the ice. Still—he gets on the phone with the manager talking about how she needs to “come get her customer” like I was a threat.
When the manager arrived, I approached her respectfully, hoping for some kind of resolution. Instead, I was immediately met with the same aggressive tone. My first words were, “So this is how we’re going to do this conversation?” And guess what—still no empathy. No apology. Just coldness and ego.
I’m not trying to be judgmental—I just genuinely don’t understand why this became a hostile confrontation over something so minor. Especially when it could’ve been a simple, kind conversation. I paid. I explained. I was calm. And still got treated like a problem.
Sometimes people in positions of power let their personal projections take over—and that’s what this felt like. My light may bother your shadows, but that doesn’t give you permission to dim it with...
Read moreWhat happened within the last week? Get my coffee every morning here. For like past week everything including employees has gone to hell. It’s so dirty. Rotten creamer around coffee. If there is any creamer. Shelves are empty. Round of new staff is classless. Not even in uniform. They don’t even talk or Literally talking on FaceTime to their boyfriends while checking you out. The entire store is dirty all of a sudden. What the heck? Guess I’ll be going down the street to the newly opened one from now on. I’m out. Not drinking from a disgusting...
Read moreI called to find out information on a product/service provided by the store. Was told yes they sold what I asked about; though when asked about payment method, the crew person said I don't know and hung up. Thinking it may be an accident, I called back and repeated my question only to be told the person didn't know. No offer to find out the answer to my question or a willingness to, only expected for the customer to assume risk and waste time. I was hung up on, again. Will not go...
