In the same way that there is such a thing as American Chinese food this place feels kind of like American Vietnamese food. The drinks were by far the best part of the experience. Tons of options, good boba and amazing coffee (lavender latte was incredible). We got vegetarian spring roles and they were nothing to write home about and could have used more avocado though they were neat and quick to come out. I got the tofu vermicelli bowl which was alright. Basically the exact same ingredients as the spring roll accepted totally lacked fresh herbs which is an important part of any real vermicelli bowl. The tofu was fantastic and I wish there was twice as much of it. They put spinach in the bowl which I found to be very strange and they also had additional lettuce which was fine but felt overall unnecessary. The rest of the veggies were fresh and good. I have mixed feelings about the sauce: they serve it with peanut sauce which tastes very good but I really wish they could have committed to the dish and found a way to make a vegetarian vinaigrette without the fish sauce. I really prefer that and have had it other places with great success. Just some notes. The bowl was pretty good overall. The best thing we had was the tofu ramen bowl which was perfectly seasoned and cooked super well. The vegetables were all fresh and the tofu was once again well marinated and handled. They weirdly put spinach in this too... Not sauteed in the sauce but added on top raw on top after cooking. Weird.

Is this the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to? No. I am not from Rockford and I noticed there were a lot of other Vietnamese options. I specifically chose this restaurant because of the vermicelli bowl offering and was not particularly impressed. I probably won't return but if I were local I would definitely consider coming back for...

EXTREMELY rude, horrible service by the mexican male cashier. I say Mexican to point him out because first of all, I AM Mexican myself and I don’t have his name. He’s the only Mexican guy here. Anyways, I liked their food, but the man up front has the most rotten attitude I’ve ever encountered as a customer. He talked down to me, mocked me, falsely accused me of being rude because I gently bent over for him to take my temperature because of Covid (tall girl, short guy, get it? Hurt his ego.) And because he couldn’t reach to get my temperature, and accused me of being rude for bending to his height, he made up some sob story that I was not complying with Covid safety measures and demanded I leave. He says to me ā€œOh so we have an attitude now I see?ā€ And kept running his mouth. Couldn’t even get a word in. I never thought I’d report a business to the BBB, but I had to because of how horrible this man treated me. I have never been non compliant with any Covid safety measure. I didn’t argue, I didn’t pick a fight, and I’ve never been demanded to leave any public/private setting in my life, ever. Never. I honestly don’t think this dude was just rude, I think he’s a lunatic. Even the guests that were present in the restaurant were clapping on my behalf and said to me ā€œwe support you.ā€ And they walked out with me!! Complete strangers. Because they witnessed the chaos of this mans behavior. I will never...

Pho Square is one of our favorite restaurants. The minute you walk in, the fragrance of fresh basil and other fresh ingredients take hold of your nostrils. It's not uncommon to see one of the employees chopping fresh vegetables. They have a diverse menu from spring rolls, beef skewers, rice and noodle dishes and everything in between. There's nothing like a big steamy bowl of Pho to soothe your senses. I love the Bahn Mi, a Vietnamese sandwich that you will constantly crave. I love the Beef Skewers with white rice and an egg on top of the rice, dipping sauce and a small "salad" of cucumbers, daikon and carrots. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions.

Excellent restaurant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the service was very fast. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained. I ordered spring rolls, a small chicken pho, and a brown sugar boba tea. The spring rolls were a nice size and super fresh! It’s also served with a tasty peanut sauce! The boba tea was awesome. It wasn’t overly sweet, but had great flavor. Lastly, the pho was tasty and fragrant. Even though I ordered a small, there was still a lot! I will definitely be coming back to this place next time I am in town. I included some photos of the food, but I forgot to take one of the pho before I ate it all. šŸ˜…
