Buyer Beware! I bought two fans in September 10, 2024. It took until October 21 to get them installed, which didn’t bother me a lot. Once they were installed, one of them did not work correctly because I had two light switches connected to that fan. The wall controller would not work. I was told this might happen so I expected it. I ordered a remote control for the fan and it was supposed to be delivered to me and set up by Northern Lights. I called many times to get the remote and get the fan working. On November 17, I finally decided to go to the store and get it myself. I was told that if it interfered with my other fan I would have to change the settings in the fan and then it should work, but if I need help to call them and they would come and get it working because it required climbing up a ladder to switch settings on the fan. I’m a 59 year old woman. I can not take a ceiling fan down by myself to get it working, so after not being able to get it to work I called the store several more times to have someone come out and help me. At least 4 times I called. No one ever came so I had given up and decided to try to figure out who I could get among my friends to help me. The store finally called and someone came on January 31, 2025 and got it working. It turned out, I had been given wrong information about having to change settings up inside the fan and it was in the remote control. I could have done that myself weeks ago! I take some blame for not bothering to read the directions on how to change the settings so I was just happy to have it working finally. Now, on February 22, 2025, I received a $60 bill for having someone come and get the fan working more than four and a half months after I bought it. I spent $ 900 plus tax for two fans, $48.20 plus tax for a remote, and now I have to pay another $60! Beware of customer service issues if you decide to buy from...
Read moreI called to get some advice on a ceiling fan that was installed in my home prior to purchase. Was not sure where the fan was purchased, but thought that As they are local I’d reach out see what they said and also inquire about what taking an old one out and reinstalling would look like. The gentleman I spoke with was very impatient on the phone (after I explained I thought they were experts who could help) and talked over me several times. He hung up on me mid-sentence because he “had a customer”. I called back to let him know I was also calling to potentially discuss replacement but likely wouldn’t now since he rushed me off the phone. We have at least seven fans we were in the market to potentially replace and will have to find someone else as this company apparently is not looking for business in the midst of Covid. It’s a shame because we would love to support local...
Read moreI was about to buy some lights that I hated from a big box store and my husband looked at me and said, "You know there are other stores that sell lights, right? You don't have to buy lights you hate." As soon as he said that it reminded me of Northern Lights. Eric, the owner, is wonderful to work with. He was very patient and wanted to understand what I was looking for and help me find lights I loved. And he did just that!! I couldn't be happier and will definitely be back for future projects. Don't buy lights you hate! Northern lights has a great selection and I was pleasantly surprised that the price wasn't...
