UPDATE: Still incredibly rude. My friend said she wanted to visit, liked the cause, I advised her otherwise. Long story short counter lady was nasty. I just went back to my car and waited for my friend to come out. I then laughed at my friend. My friend was flummoxed and teary. I bought her a drink. Dont shop here lol.
Name Changed: MCHS THRIFT STORE Unless you're ready to spend actual store prices and be treated callously don't bother. I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely at any thrift store. Three points of contention: 1. Customer service, 2. Name of the store changed to Mchs Thrift Store, 3. Prices.
To be fair I came in 30mins before closing. I came in and instantly a woman behind the counter says "You have 5 mins so you need to hurry up." Mind you all the place closes at 4. That was the first thing to rub me wrong. I was just looking. Most retail thrift shops will make an intercom announcement that just reminds people we're closing soon. Not single someone out. On top of that they wouldn't let this couple in 15mins before closing and were working on locking the door. Then made an additional announcement that people needed to be "mindful" of the time and leave if they are not buying. Boy when they say they are closing at 4 they mean the doors are š š and they are showing everyone out at 3:30.
The name has changed. I couldn't find it before because it is not the same lol. I've added a photo.
Prices. I know that the profits go to a good cause, but you should be shopping at a mall for these prices. Or even better Amazon. I know it's hard to be competitive but yeah not a fan. Some of it was reasonable and others I might as well go to an actual store. Didn't find much....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor the longest time, I have been wanting to visit Humane Thrift Together, but I didnāt get around to it until Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 after I dropped my mom off at the Metro so she could go on her business trip.
From what I saw thus far, I have to say that I really love that you can get kitchen and bedroom appliances for less than $10 a piece and sometimes, if youāre lucky, you can get a bundle for a dollar, depending on what it is that youāre looking to but.
As for clothes, while I canāt guarantee that you would always manage to find that perfect piece in time for an upcoming celebration or festival, all in all, compared to the prices that Iāve seen on apps like Depop and Etsy for similar clothing items, $10 for dresses of all types and $7 for jackets of all types in my opinion are very reasonable. I mean really, why the heck are gunnie sax dresses so expensive these days?
So yeah, all in all, for one bundle of two sushi mats, one usable salad spinner, one authentic kaftan, and one bundle of three soft, vintage clothes hangers, Iād say that paying approximately $16.04 total was worth it.
I especially like that Humane Together Thrift supports local animals so yeah, whatās not to love about this charity shop?
Oh, and not to mention that the people at the register are very nice.
Please everyone, give this shop a try! I promise to you all that it would be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I have been shopping here for years, and we have never been treated with anything less than good manners when we have- and that is even after I got into a shouting match in the middle of the store with another customer! We actually make a visit here a priority for us when we are in the area. Not every visit reveals gold nugget, but we have found quite the number of excellent items in almost every area of the store. Our last visit was a bit surprising, however, as we were unaware of the name and locale change (manager- update your info!), but when we spotted the sign, we were glad we didn't just speed away. The photos will indicate what I was in the mood for purchasing! Always worth a stop- and not just because it is for a good cause. Never mind grouchy seniors behind...
