I only had a short time to talk to the baker at Les Delices but, I can tell you that he embodies the idea that âlife is too short to eat bad foodâ. His truly extraordinary creations will be welcomed at any event and look forward to working with him in the future. I would like to extend my personal thanks to the Les Delices bakery for coming through at the 11th hour and providing an exemplary cake in celebration of the U.S. Armyâs birthday.
We men and women of the military take great pride and satisfaction in our heritage and traditions. One of those traditions is the celebration of our service birthdays. A key part of these celebrations is the cake cutting ceremony. Due to an unforeseeable event, we lost the original cake that was to be used in our ceremony a short four hours prior to the event. In a panicked effort to save the event, I set about calling every bakery in the DC area to try to set up a 100-serving ceremony worthy cake made on short order. While my calls found many sympathetic ears, the answer was always âit canât be doneâ. Three hours prior to the event, I called Les Delices Bakery and to my amazement I got a âyes we canâ. When asked how I would like the cake made, I replied âfast, simple and plainâ. The baker never missed a beat and simply replied âwe donât do plain, we do deliciousâ. At that point I knew we were in good hands. True to his word the cake was made in time and was truly delicious. I would like to note that âdeliciousâ in this context is NOT a generic compliment. The quality and flavor of this cake stopped dozens of men and women in their tracks at first bite and was noted by many as âby far the best ceremony cake I...
Read moreWe usually purchase a $37 cake for every birthday in our large family. That said, we had a rather bad experience picking up a cake today. I called and made the order with the main baker , gave my name, number, the type of cake and the words to be written on the cake. We went to pick it up the next day, they kept us there for 30 mins looking for the order. Turns out they only took down my number, and wrote the wrong words on the cake! We remained patient and asked nicely that they provide us with a cake with the right words(it's for my father, not my mother) We understand sometimes on the phone you can mishear words, but now please write the correct words. Well the employees in question did not communicate with each other, and just wrote what they thought they heard, even though we spelled it out. The main baker's attitude was not appreciated. Very condescending in a "I know better" kind of way. We were already late to the birthday party so we just bought the cake and left. I did express to the lady behind the counter that given the chance to fix their mistake, they still made a grave error and extremely dissapointed us. Her only response was " we try our best" when that clearly wasn't the case. If they had only paid closer attention, communicated with each other, noted down orders correctly and showed a little kindness, I would remain a...
Read moreIt was my first time placing a order with Les Delices Bakery. I had trouble placing the order online, but the staff is so friendly and helpful. They remained on call throughout the time until I could finish the payment and confirm my order. Due to the current circumstances, they offered me to deliver the cake st my door step and I must say the delivery was spot on as they delivered it before time. I ordered the Black currant hazelnut crunch cake and it tasted amazing, it had the right balance of dark chocolate, sweetness and the freshness of some fresh fruit. The cake appeared exactly as it is shown on the website and I loved the fonts they used to write the message on the cake. All and all, it was a great experience and I am definitely going to order more in future. Thank you Les Delices Bakery for making our party a memorable one with your...
