Read moreComing from a strict Catholic upbringing by my Grandparents in Pennsylvania it was nice to find a Catholic Church close to where I live but also has the same name as my beloved church which was unfortunately torn down. I spent many hours in the confessional but I am 49. I have so many memories of St. Mary's Church with it's cathedral ceilings, hand carved woodwork and paintings which appeared to have been the work of God himself. Read moreIt's a nice church and the choir mass at 10:15 on Sundays is wonderful, once you get in after finding a parking spot. Parking is a major issue here as the church is surrounded by 2 state highways, the Metro tracks and a private driveway so there is no off-premise parking. If you double park here like many parishioners find themselves having to do, especially on the holy days like Easter, you take a chance on drawing the ire of someone who left Mass early since at St. Mary's, like at most Catholic churches many parishioners here think the Mass is over after they receive Communion and dash to their cars so they won't miss the early pickings at the buffet and finding this on your car...
