I was so excited about signing up for what I thought was a class. Unfortunately, it was just a do it yourself project with limited guidance. And then when the supplies I needed ran out, the attendant was unsympathetic and didn’t offer a way to finish my project. Another person finally came up and said she would try and help but I would have to return another day. And when another date was offered it was very inconvenient. It ended up being such an unpleasant experience with the place and the staff made no offer to remedy that I paid for a project that I was unable to finish and I guess is still there. Would not recommend!

Leaving Only Pure Energy to Fill the World A limited-time event and a lovely memory! This January, we moved into the Fenasta Apartments. Just in time for the Easter season, the community partnered with the shop downstairs—Hammer & Stain—to host a special welcome event for new residents this past Thursday. Held in their crafting studio, the event offered a free yarn bunny workshop as a gesture of appreciation and welcome. Using soft, fuzzy yarn, participants created adorable bunny moms and babies—bringing a delightful charm to the entire spring season! April brings gentle rain, blooming apricot blossoms, and vibrant spring light. Under the patient and attentive guidance of the instructor, everyone was able to complete their bunny projects with ease and joy. From a distance, the hand-tied pink bunnies added a lively touch of spring to the scene. Up close, each loop in the knitted yarn looked as if it had been touched with a soft blush—so delicate and cute, it was impossible not to fall in love. We’re truly grateful for the teacher’s patience, care, and dedication—qualities that are rare and appreciated. If you and your children are interested in crafts, Hammer & Stain offers a wide range of workshops. It’s a great option for after-school enrichment or a meaningful spring break activity—both fun and educational.

Love this studio! I’ve come here to do a few different projects, and it’s always a fun and kinda therapeutic experience! Clean studio, staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you feel like you’re an artist! They teach you tricks and techniques, help you clean up your errors too so that you can leave with something you’re proud of! I am also always looking for senior friendly activities for my grandfather to do, and he loved coming here to do a project!

I recently visited Hammer & Stain during their open studio hours to create a sea glass Christmas tree, and I couldn't have had a better experience! From the moment I walked in, the owner, Michelle, made me feel so welcome. She was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful, walking me through the process step-by-step. When I felt stuck choosing colors or shapes, she offered advice and encouragement that made the project come together really well!

I wouldn’t consider myself very artistic, but with Michelle’s guidance, I created a tree I’m genuinely proud of :-) The studio itself has such a pleasant ambiance, with music playing and walls full of inspiring artwork that showcase the creative possibilities.

If you’re looking for a fun, creative activity in a supportive and inviting environment, I highly recommend...

We had an incredible experience working with Hammer & Stain for our elementary school’s PTA painting party! From start to finish, Michelle was absolutely wonderful to work with. She went above and beyond to make the event a success—tracing over 100 canvases by hand, creating clear, easy-to-follow painting instructions for the kids, and even coming to the event in person to help with set-up and coordination.

Her attention to detail, creativity, and genuine care for the kids and the community truly stood out. Thanks to Michelle’s hard work and thoughtful preparation, the painting party ran smoothly and was a huge hit with students, parents, and teachers alike.

We’re so grateful for her support and highly recommend Hammer & Stain to anyone planning a creative event. Thank...

My children attended this art summer camp and had the most amazing time! From the very first day, they came home excited, inspired, and full of stories about what they created and learned. The staff was incredible—so kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about working with kids. It was clear they put a lot of heart into making the camp a fun, safe, and creative environment.

Every morning, my kids couldn’t wait to go back, and they were always proud to show off their artwork at the end of the day. It’s such a joy as a parent to see your children thrive, feel confident, and have so much fun while learning. We’ll definitely be back next summer!

Highly recommend this camp to any family looking to nurture their child’s love for art in a supportive and...
