I have lived at lakeside for five years. Upon moving in it was privately owned by a family member so I never had to deal with the office.

Due to HOA, they ended up selling the condo when darcorp bought the property.

It’s been really hit and miss for me. A major miss was raising my rent five hundred dollars and thinking that it is ok and the continuing to raise it three percent everytime I renew my lease. It’s not a fun time, especially since in the beginning it really wasn’t worth the price they bombarded me with. It might be comparable to the area but the property and buildings themselves are not at all comparable. I’ve never had upgrades or anything even after five years. (Like I did say. It was privately owned in the beginning. And probably nicer than others until they got bought out) I’ve seen whole staircases collapse due to age and unkempt processes. Which was tragic but this is when Mariana started and when we saw how amazing she truly was. That tragic event happened of the staircase collapsing from the third floor, (no one was on it thank god) and she had it fixed in record time. And fixed correctly. So what is truly a huge hit for me is that he office management. Which is Mariana and she has went above and beyond and been more understanding then anyone I’ve ever met with any of my qualms, concerns and sometimes even my downfalls. (I lost my job at one point and she made sure to make it as least stressful as she could, when in reality she didn’t have to if she didn’t want to, but she made sure I didn’t lose my home) mariana goes 100% above and beyond to handle any and all problems. She cares about her residents and the property itself more than anyone I’ve seen in the last ten years. (Again. Was privately owned by family for nearly twenty years)

Mariana is irreplaceable to this community and to be frank, to me. I hope she stays in my life as that friend and person who has been more understanding than even some of my family and I am truly thankful for the amazing resident support and support in general she willingly provides.

If you have a problem, just let that amazing woman know and she will handle it in a timely manner with actual care!

Looking for a new home? It may not be brand new, but it is well cared for before and after your move in and even the maintenence is available for helpful tasks if your tasks are too heavy to manage alone and that to me goes above and beyond customer service. That’s just being a great human all around on all their parts!

Mariana is where it’s at if you want apartments that actually care.

Side note. The review saying it was water bug infested. I’ve seen approximately three water bugs in my apartment in five years so...

Mariana Luna is the manager here at this apartment. I've lived there for 3 years, and since she took over, she tried to improve the place. These are an older complex, but she is working hard for her community. She got us new pavement for parking and dog stations throughout the complex, fixing and repainting the outside units. Honestly, she is trying to make this complex a better place that we would want to call home. Hosting BBQ in the summer, getting the pool ready to use, cause the city closed it twice, decorating for Halloween and Christmas. She answers my call every time with her friendly self, and if I had an issue, she tried to handle it right as fast as she could. But let's face it, these are not the best apartments in Rockwall. They probably are the worst, but they are affordable for Rockwall. All other complexes were way more expensive, so you get what you pay for. There is a big big roach, probably, and no matter how many time I bombed the place, they came back. I swear they even got faster and harder to kill. I spent so much money on products, which was a waste of time. Nothing worked. My first unit, which was a 2 bedroom, had ants, and my second unit, which was a 3 bedroom, had the roaches. Oh, and my neighbors upstairs were so loud, all day and night. I tried talking to them, the front office try, and nothing. Every weekend there was a party, which is fine but after 2 am and the music is still going... The boiler is always messing up, and we would not have hot water for days. There are water leaks every time it rains, and the renter insurance or the complex would not replace my damaged furniture. The plumbing is also a problem. My sink will always get clogged, but that was cause all our pipes are connected. Even with the dog station put up, the owner still didn't pick up after their dogs. And most are too lazy to put their trash in the dumpster. Like I said, you get what...

Yes the place seems more “reasonable” for basically 1600 a month, water included and spectrum…NOT worth it. I would save my money and try my best to find another place to rent or just bit the bullet and just get higher rent elsewhere. When you walk into the apartment it smells like it has roaches, which it does. When we moved into our apartment we had dead roaches in the dishwasher, fridge and pantry. We were told that the apartment complex had pest control come out every two months or so…which was completely fabricated and was a lie. They only spray for pest if you request it…which completely defeats the purpose for neighbors. We had nothing but trouble with having hot water during the winter…you might wake up and have it you might now, before we left I was told they had it completely fixed so future tenants wouldn’t have to deal with that, which I hope is true. There has been positive changes happening around the place but the biggest thing we had a problem with was the roaches…we ended up just breaking lease and purchased a home, the only reason we moved in was to save, welp now we have been finding baby roaches here and there at the house due to living at these apartments. It’s absolutely gross and seems like something you’d find in south Dallas. If you want to cultivate roaches at your new place once you leave then this is the place you’d definitely want to get your breed here. I really hate to leave a bad review because I was grateful to have a roof over my head but the years of neglect is pathetic and now anyone who lives there and leaves most likely will have a problem down the road that they had there with pest problems.
