If you have never Kayaked or canoed before, I do not recommend this route. While it only took my husband and I a little over 2 hours to finish, this was our first time kayaking and the person who took us out was not very informative. He barely spoke to us. I had to tell him we never did this before for him to just give a quick little tip on how to steer and that was about it. Pushed us out into the water and sent us on our way. The first 30 minutes were pretty rough since we had no idea what we were doing. Once we got the hang of it and figured out how to steer properly, we were finally able to enjoy ourselves. Tons of trees and branches are in the river so that is what made the steering the most difficult. The water is not deep at all in most areas. Pretty shallow for the most part. We saw tons of ducks and a few blue jays. For an experienced kayaker, you would be happy with the length of the trip. I would just avoid this one if you’re brand new since it takes a good 2-3 hours to get back to where you began. They drive you about 7-10 minutes down the road and then on you to make it back to the restaurant.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. Daughter & I decided last min to head to this place, no reservation was needed, staff was super friendly. You rent at the restaurant, take your ticket down to the employee's They take you on a 10-15 min bus ride & it's around a 2 & 1/2 hour trip back. Very scenic, lot's of wildlife, quiet & relaxing. It is a workout paddling so be prepared. $25 per person is worth the memories you will make here, will be back!

Wonderful experience! Not just friendly, but kind and helpful! Laid back for sure! From the phone call, to the rental, to the launch and recovery! Very pleased. I live in Missouri, and this transported me back home..thank you. Trip took me 3 hrs. Took the first 2/3 nice and easy. Last stretch I gently paddled most of it. Highly recommend these guys! I will definitely be back

This used to be a favorite place and now. If there were no stars. I'd give them O. It's not even a little enjoyable. Take out three times - horrible. Had my friend pick up some food to go for me because the energy their to eat was HORRIBLE as if they hate life and all they do. Ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. EASY, but noooo HORRIBLE take out AND THREW IT AWAY. It is scary and sad for sensitive people like myself. BRAIN INJURED) FOREVER RECOVERY: It smelled off and spoiled. I tried again the other day. I left crying as my waitress didn't REALIZE that I COULD HEAR HER TALKING ABOUT ME & how insensitive and RUDE her words were. I LEFT IN TEARS. I went in HAPPY! AND SMILING! I had a friend who used to go with me kayaking here a lot! It was our spot! AND we would always eat and over tip for them because we care about local communities and the wait staff. Recently, he passed away, and I simply mentioned it to her as I was reminiscing, HAPPILY! AND wow. I felt so embarrassed just saying so😔- as she SAID.. oh yes-I remember him? (now I realize they all just lie) she remembered him🤔😏How RUDE OF HER & INSENSITIVE and after all the kayaking/ money we spent there on food and people we shared it with and with the economy so hard. It seems that nice has left that place with Elvis. 🤷‍♀️You will get lies and fake nice from EVERYONE. ANOTHER EMBARRASSING and hurtful time; they made me a liar; as I was a liar for speaking the OWNERS LIES; his lies of his nationality(which who cares) FAKE PEOPLE. - He is not GREEK as he represents himself to be. WHY? ALL LIES?🫡🙄. My GREEK friend simply wanted to be friendly, and he seemed very annoyed. as he wants others to believe he's GREEK? 🤔🤥. Why? Lies? What's in my food when you lie about nothing. My Greek friend was trying to be nice by speaking his language. NOPE. I was sooooo embarrassed; and it used to be awesome. What's saddest. I've docked for the past 30 years on Lake Erie and found the place BEFORE he rented his kayaks out. I told him. And I'm just saying. It's a gem 💎 for extra$$$. And now look. He OVER CHARGES. EVERYONE! THAT'S JUST GREEDY. Go there. Don't go. Eat. Don't eat. They lie. They hurt STRANGERS. My money will go to NICE AND EATABLE FOOD and decent NON GREEDY people with manners and respect. Normally, when I don't have something nice to say. I won't say, however, in this visit. I was truly saddened at the lack of empathy and such bold rudeness. As if! Your voice carries over an empty restaurant, miss icky. I won't go back, and I'll do my best to spread THIS all over the marinas. Go to WATERFRONT instead. ...

Went here for the first time today. Pulled up with our own kayaks, and went to speak to the gentleman. He's not the best personality to have greet people. He seen our 3 kayaks and said hi and right into "ok 3 people that's $30." I ask about the river because we had not been on it before, but have been kayaking for 20+ years. He says, I'll take you to the drop off point and you paddle back here to your vehicle.(kinda like talking to a child) I wanted more than that. I know what a drop off is! IF HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIS FACE OUT OF HIS PHONE, I would have asked for the details about the river I was looking for.. Is it Fast/slow? How long it takes? Is it bendy? Lots of debri? Lol. Idk anything else. The drive to the drop off was LOUD and rough. Thought we were gonna lose our kayaks on the drive there. I would ONLY go again for the trip on the water because it's only 15 min away from me, but for no reason hy them from the unprofessional and...
