They are all very nice the times i've went in but that dude in firearms needs to work up front the man didnt even know what an improved cylinder was when i called an asked if they had any invector plus choke tubes lol. I'm no store owner but in my hiring process i would test to see if the person actually knows a wink of what he's talking about other than the basics and atleast if he didn't he doesn't try to portray that he does because i'm pretty sure it was the same guy when i called the second time the other day asking if they had any M&P sport 2 rifles in stock and he said no so i asked him does he have any other "ArmaLite" rifles and he said they aren't called "ArmaLite" rifles because ArmaLite is a brand (trying to school me as if i didn't know that) i just said you know what i mean and didn't bother schooling him on the fact if that's HOW the term "AR" Came about. ArmaLite was the first brand to make that style rifle I guess he's the kinda guy that thinks it stands for assault rifle lol. Every time i call up to check if they have something other than the basic stuff the guy really never disappoints. You don't gotta know everything but atleast don't act like it or work a different section of the store cause it really is kinda frustrating when I'm trying to find something and the guy can't ever just simply answer my question like i asked a trigonometry math equation. I can understand the thinking AR meant assault rifle there's a lot of people that probably do but you gotta atleast know what an improved cylinder is i have known that since the 1st grade probably. Other than that Everybody is very nice i don't do much other shopping there besides guns i just think they should move people around in there a lil bit and they'd be perfect but it's a good laugh after i sit and think on it a lil but it was...
Read moreThis store has a nice variety, and we have been good customers for sometime, but a couple of the employees are rude and disrespectful. One Saturday, one employee in particular - a tall, stern older lady with gray hair in a ponytail - usually in a bad mood - decided that my wife and I should leave our backpacks at the counter after we had been shopping for awhile, and had chosen several items to purchase. I tried to explain to her that my ID, my money, some personal items and my portable oxygen generator was in my pack, but she cut me off and didn't want to hear it. Good thing I didn't need my oxygen at that time. My wife and I put our items back (probably $100 worth), and probably won't return. This could have been a real safety issue. Also, there is nothing posted concerning backpacks not being allowed anywhere that we could see. Employees like this make Dickey Bub look bad, and could cause legal issues. What employees and companies don't understand, is the ripple effect from bad customer service. My 97 year old father in law has lived in this area for generations, and has gone to this store every Sunday after church since it opened (20+ years) to buy all of his supplies for his 40 acre farm. He was disappointed about our encounter, and will surely let...
Read moreI want to like Dickey Bub so much- I even bought a Dickey Bub hat at one point- but I'm consistently frustrated by several things, listed below. I genuinely hope it improves, but for now, I cannot recommend them over Menards or Farm And Home.
rewards having extremely agressive expiration dates. I've successfully cashed $25 out of maybe $300 of credit. I've given up even giving my number at checkout. The chances of cashing them in the ~3 week window is usually low.
high prices and poor selection (hardware/electrical)
damaged or low-quality goods. Kits missing parts and tools breaking quickly are frequent enough to be noteworthy.
staff giving confident but incorrect advice. I've bought incorrect mower parts, been recommended fire code violations, told on the phone that I was missing parts but in person told to purchase them instead, and I can go on. Most employees seem to be teenagers, so I don't blame them! There seems to be a culture of not admitting when you're not sure, and not deferring to...
