WHAT AN AWESOME ATMOSPHERE!!
We went to the alley on Turner McCall to enjoy a much needed family fun day, today. I have to say, we were very unhappy with our experience. We were at our lane for maybe 10 minutes and our lane was giving us some major issues. Basically roll the ball, knock down some pins and the game would completely stop every single time. No further activity. We were running back and forth and had made multiple reports to staff within only minutes of our arrival. I explained I was frustrated and that we were considering turning in our shoes and leaving at that point. We were told "You act like this is our fault". "These issues are VERY COMMON". "Turn in your shoes, that's fine." (Maybe not their fault it was happening, but it was very much an inconvenience to not be able to play and to have to ask for help after each and every single roll.. and coming back to the counter each time, after only just arriving... FORGIVE ME as I've never used the bowling phones prior to today because I wasn't familiar enough to notice they were there). Maybe pointing out to us that we could call it in rather than having to walk back and forth every few minutes, from the start, would've gone a long ways. Maybe trying to be a little more understanding of our frustration would've gone a long ways. Rather, the young man's frustration with me, overpowered my own growing frustration. The lady that was working was very, very friendly to us. She told the guy to move us to another lane to see if that would help and I heard him say "No, they want to turn their shoes in and go instead." At this point, we no longer felt welcomed, anyhow. We decided it wasn't worth the hassle and frustration and decided to turn our shoes in and find something else to do as a family instead. The kids were very sad and terribly upset. We left. As we were leaving, my husband said "Let's go check out the one across town.. we haven't been to it in years." So, we came across town to this bowling alley and my goodness...all the staff were so amazing! It was also so much cleaner, nicer and quieter. We were practically the only people here while the other alley was totally maxed out. As we were leaving, we noticed it was picking up with the younger crowd moving in for the weekend fun. I have to say.. the two gentleman that were working today, went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time here today. We will most certainly be coming back to see you again soon! You guys were AMAZING. Thank you for being so attentive and for giving us proper explanations and instructions for equipment functions. It really made our kids day, which in turn.. made our day!!...
Read moreI second many of the other reviews about the horrible customer service here. Came here on a Sunday with my family, and after we bowled a couple of frames I went to put a dollar in the juke box. My song played for about 2 seconds before they cut the power to the entire juke box. I went over to the front desk and asked why the juke box was turned off, and they said there was a tournament going on so they didn't want any music playing. That seemed reasonable to me, and it also seemed reasonable that I should get my dollar back since there were no signs on the jukebox indicating it was off-limits due to the tournament. Employee, and then the owner, both came over and stated they were absolutely not going to give me my dollar back and emphatically pointed to a sign near the desk that said no refunds. I understand it was only a dollar, but the point is they took my money and gave me nothing in return for it. There's a word for that. I could have just as easily put $5 or $10 in the juke box, and this place would be perfectly fine with pointing to their no refund sign and keeping my money. The owner finally slapped a dollar on the counter from his own pocket, but did it very rudely and made clear I was the one who was wrong. I took my family and immediately left rather than feed his pockets further. We intended to stay for several games, but this establishment doesn't care - they are willing to lose $30-$40 over a dollar bill, because here the customer is apparently wrong. Later found out that both bowling alleys in town are apparently owned by the same owner - won't be back to...
Read moreThis bowling alley is tough for me to rate because I know and like the employees, and because I bqowl here every week in a league, which I gre1atly enjoy.3z
The alley is a bit run down and we have a fair amount of trouble with the equipment, i.e balls not being returned, lanes being reset, etc. At least one of the lanes was putting little tiny divots in my bowling ball.
During a league night, it used to be tough to get food quickly since there was often a line, however that is much improved on league nights. The food isn't bad, and I have eaten dinner there more than a few times.
They do serve draft beer, however there are only four on draft and they don't often change. It would be nice to have a rotating one. They also have bottled beer and other alcoholic beverages.
Lately, on the summer league nights, the temperature inside is getting close to 80°. Apparently, the AC is going out and can't handle the heat.
The employees, especially Barry, are fantastic and willing to help however they can and generally make what is sometimes a difficult experience, a decent one.
The Pro Shop is near impossible to utilize. It is only open on certain days and between certain times. I will usually take a new bowling ball and get it drilled elsewhere.
You can play music throughout the alley from your cell phone which is nice, but the speakers are concentrated at both ends of the alley and if you're bowling in front of of one of them, you won't be able to have much...
