I called a company that was recommended by a friend I trust because my oven wasn’t working. When I called, I asked for the person my friend said to ask for, but the person who answered told me that person wasn’t available and assured me they could still help. I explained that I had just moved into a house, discovered the oven didn’t work, and wanted someone to come out to figure out why and fix it. They said “okay,” booked me an appointment, and that was the end of the call with no mention of limitations or extra details.
When the technician arrived, he spent time checking the oven controls, which were working. He then asked if I had something to set the oven on if he pulled it out of the wall. I got a chair, and he removed the oven and we balanced it on the chair while he looked inside. He told me there are two wires, a red one and a black one, and the red one was burnt out. I asked if he could fix it, and he said no he wasn’t an electrician and therefore couldn’t repair it.
This was not what I expected, because I thought they were sending someone who could repair whatever problem was found if the oven was fixable. Instead, he put the oven back, charged me $125 for the house call, and left without resolving anything.
I called the company back to ask why they sent someone who couldn’t repair the oven if the problem was electrical. They told me they had explained on the phone that they don’t do electrical repairs and that the house call would be $125. I assured them they never said either of those things. If they had told me upfront that the visit would cost $125, and if it turned out to be electrical, they couldn’t fix it, I would not have scheduled the appointment.
What left me most upset is that they insisted they did tell me, even though they hadn’t. I felt dismissed, as though they thought they could simply insist otherwise because I’m a 92 year old woman. I never expected to have to double-check whether they were sending someone who could actually repair my oven, that was clearly the purpose of my call. Instead, I paid $125 just to be told what was wrong, with no repair and no resolution. What I still can’t get over is how the person on the phone seemed absolutely convinced they had told me those things or they were simply willing to lie about it. It turned what should have been a straightforward repair into an amazingly bad experience that left me frustrated, out of pocket, and with the oven...
Read moreHorrible place. Don't ever buy anything from here. I bought a washer and dryer from here and the guy raved about what a great deal I was getting, when really I just got screwed over. The washer and dryer had been painted over in some spots with white paint and so the spots looked and felt different than the rest of the appliance, but that's just cosmetic so now big deal. The dryer worked okay, it was squeaky but got the clothes dry so not many complaints there. However, when we get the set home and run a load of clothes through and it starts overflowing because the washer wouldn't drain. I went back in and they sent out a technician. He fixed that problem but then we discovered that the washer had some make shift feet on it that weren't even real feet so it was off balance and they wouldn't stay when adjusted, it wouldn't spin the clothes right so by the end of the load the clothes would still be dirty and they'd be soaked, and the inside of the washer it's self was very nasty and so our clothes always smelled and had nasty lint with hair and dirt that wasn't from us stuck to them. The washer also would shake so much during the washing that on certain cycles I would have to go in and hold the washer machine down because it moved so much and eventually one of the legs went through our floor from how bad the shaking was and every time I went in there they just got super defensive and told me what the problem could be and made me feel dumb for even suggesting there was a problem, never even offered to send someone back out, unless of course I wanted to pay for it. Don't ever go here. Save your money and spend it somewhere else. This...
Read moreI was sold a washer and dryer that didn't work. The agitator kept popping off of the washer and you had to run the rinse cycle three or more times before the soapy water would be completely drained from the bin. When I didn't want to spend more money for a technician to come out and fix something that should have worked in the first place, I was told that I was an idiot and was not going to be refunded. Steve is not a good business owner, he only cares about making a quick buck. He ended up refunding me less than 50% of what I paid for the set and now he's just going to "fix" the set and resell them to someone else for $500. What a terrible business and a terrible person to have ever met. I have never ever in my life had a business OWNER call me an "idiot". I run a couple businesses of my own and that is how you lose customers and gain horrible reviews....
