We were at this facility for a volleyball tournament. The playing surface itself was good. The nets were tight and they have sturdy screens between the courts eliminating play stoppage for balls flying in the court and delaying games which was really nice. The only complaint I got from my child playing was it was really hot and with no fans running the HVAC system was not able to exchange the air well enough. As far as a spectators view this is not a good facility. There is absolutely no seating. We usually travel with chairs but forgot them due to having to leave our home town by 5:30am to get there. There were bleachers on 3 of the 4 courts that were mostly covered by the players equipment as there is nowhere else to store their things. The admission was $8 dollars which would have been ok if the amenities were there. You had a choice of cheap pizza or roller grill hotdogs and chips. That is it. This was all pool play so we did not have an option to take time to go find a place somewhere to eat. Drink selection was good but the soda came in cans at $3/can. Come on. There are family's with young children running around everywhere (which again was tight as spectators had to stand in the walkway to view games) and soda being spilled due to not having bottled soda. Not the ideal thing to have anyone especially the players walking through. There were screws on one court coming out of the transition from the concrete to the wood sticking up 1-2 inches. I notified the staff on it as was a safety concern and nothing was done about it. I ended up sticking one of the 8' buffer cushions in front of it so nobody got hurt on them. Guess the staff were to busy watching movies on there devices. Sad. Only reason for the 2 star was due to the player friendly courts and how things for the most part stayed...
Read moreThis gym started out great. The facilities are nice. It has however gone drastically down hill in the last several months. It has become a place where you are constantly dealing with kids causing trouble and making it so you can't work out or use the walking track. I was told by Josh when my family started that there would always be at least one hoop open for people to shoot on. There has not been an open hoop for months. I get that it is basketball season but that is what I was told when we started.I documented in my weight lifting book every time in the last three month when there were issues. I counted 37 individual issues. I brought 16 of them to the front desk and asked for help. 4 times the person at the desk got off of their phone and went to get kids off the track or deal with the problem. One night the same kids had all of the treadmills going on high and we're running back and forth across all of them with open pop cans in their hands. The hope fieldhouse mission statement states they want to be a safe environment for children and families. It is becoming an unmanaged rec center and down right dangerous to work out at. I did research and found 4 other gyms in the area at similar price points and would recommend any of them over hope fieldhouse. It is a shame as it could be fixed if they had some one watching the upstairs area. I "hope" they can figure out that many people are very frustrated and on...
Read moreThe facility's amenities are good, but I think power users or more advanced athletes might feel constrained particularly by the lack of strength training equipment. Many workouts can be done through the use of alternative exercises, but the lack of space and equipment for some exercises, and the way in which "Olympic lifts" (deadlift, squat, and bench press are allowed) are disallowed is frustrating.
If you are looking for a facility to go to for more broad gym services (machines, strength training equipment, calisthenics equipment, plyometrics, speed/agility, and sports performance training), then I would recommend you find another place. This is a good gym to get started in, but there are so many more tools available that experienced athletes/people may feel constrained by the limited selection. That isn't to diminish the fact that a solid workout can be achieved here, just that to some it may feel there is more that could be accomplished with a more fully...
