Stopped by Saturday night (12/07/2024) with my girlfriend, to take a look at a new 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid that was on the lot which I verified with them numerous of times of its availability. They told me yes, and before I headed over there, I called one more time to verify the price of the vehicle, which was listed on their site for $24,000, as well as Hyundais ongoing getaway sales event which offered 0% APR for 48 months with qualifying credit. The representative that I spoke with Isabella, told me yes that the current price of the vehicle was $24,000 and the 0% APR if qualified would be honored as I went into detail with her about another dealer nearby who didn't want to honor Hyundais promotions for one of they're 2024 models that was already discounted and qualified for 0% APR. With this verbal confirmation, I agreed to go and was told to ask for Hayden. After arriving I meet Hayden and we start discussing the car as well as the reason I was there (To purchase the car you buffoon). After about ten minutes, he starts becoming fixated on selling me a brand new 2025 Hyundai Elantra hybrid limited which happened to be the same color and trim as the 2024 Elantra. I told him numerous of times that I wasn't interested in the 2025 and that I had inquired about the 2024 because of they're websites price and finance incentives. I had already done the math for the cost of the 2024 Elantra and its monthly payment, but Hayden, after getting me to stop by kept trying to sell me a 2025 with no dealer discounts or offers and makes up lies telling me that he would be able to offer a higher discount for the 2025 instead of the 2024 which makes absolutely zero sense and is constantly making up bullshit on the fly. I regret every minute of it, because at the end of this we spent what seemed like hours going back and forth as to why they couldn't sell me the 2024 model for the price that was advertised to me both on the phone and website, and he wouldn't shut up about the 2025 model which included their dealer add ons that were "nonnegotiable." After wasting our time, I told him I was done negotiating, and stepped away to order an Uber because it was getting late and we had no form of transportation. As we are sitting in the lobby waiting for our uber, a sales manager comes up to us and asks "why couldn't we make the deal". After speaking with him, he starts getting noticeably upset and starts to walk away numerous of times only for him to lap back around every time with some kind of remark. During this time, he loudly asked someone in the back, if the 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid had already been sold , which after getting a response from them he proceeds to lie to me and tells me it got sold in the morning, which was obviously made up bullshit because I had called multiple times that day and right before arriving, confirmed with Hayden himself it was available. During his final "lap" towards us he brings a paper that had the breakdown of the costs for the 2025 Elantra which included one of their dealer add ons and is upset because he thinks that was the difference maker between a deal or no deal. He then proceeded to show me the paper for less than 2 seconds and after I tried reaching out for the paper, he swiped his hand from me and says "my paper." Immediately after, he walks away crumbling the paper in his hand and throws it in the garbage while me and my girlfriend are just stunned by what we just witnessed. Extremely immature and clownish behavior on his end, especially coming from a sales manager. I will never understand what his goal was in bringing me that paper only for him to swipe it from me and crumble it a few seconds later without me even looking at it. Pathetic clown it's a shame I didn't catch his name. From there on they stopped approaching us and after wasting our time we left without a vehicle and ubered to a motel. My advice to those reading, stay away from here, they are extremely deceptive, invasive, liars who show no respect and have childish clowns running around as...
Read moreTrying to buy a car for my son and was excited about a used car on the lot - did all the research and decided to move forward. Went to their website and filled out the form and got the email confirmation/car info (screenshot #1 - notice the date/time). I get a text a few hours later which I replied to later in the day; I work shift work, from 4p-4a, so I responded when I woke up. I made an appointment for the next morning as soon as they opened, and asked whomever that was replying if I could take the car to my mechanic - because WHO buys a USED car without getting it checked - and was reassured they’d work with me - see the responses for yourself (screenshot #2-3). So I’m feeling pretty good about the whole thing, right? I finish my TWELVE HOUR SHIFT, in the Energy Corridor, drive home - close to NRG Stadium, take about an hour nap, drive my son to school in River Oaks, then fight traffic and drive damn near another hour all the way to ROSENBERG, about 30 miles away. I pull up to the dealership minutes after they’ve opened, and as I do, I’m getting a text asking if I’m here (screenshot #4), and I say yes and describe what vehicle I’m driving. I wait a few minutes - I’m finishing breakfast - and nobody comes out. Ok, cool. I grab the rest of my breakfast sandwich and head inside. I’m greeted politely by a young man at the front and say I’m here to see either Victor or Robyn, as the texts say. He disappears around a corner, and then the fckery begins. Victor comes around the corner with a look on his face like I’m about to serve him a warrant - no handshake, no smile, all business. Ok, I’m with it - maybe I’ll get this done quicker and can get to bed sooner because guess who’s got to be back at work at 4pm?! Well watch how quickly this goes: I give Victor my name, he finds my info, and is about to go get the keys and take me for a test drive. I say there’s no need, I just need to take it to my mechanic who’s less than 3 miles away. He looks dumbfounded for a second, then goes off to make a copy of my license and “get the keys”. He swings back around and asks if I’m paying cash - I say yes and he scurries off. Two minutes later he pokes his head out and asks where I’m taking the car - I tell him Christian Brothers (here’s a tip, dear reader - for $160 CB will tell you EVERYTHING that’s wrong with a car!). He flits away again and when he comes back, with NO KEYS, this guy FLAT OUT LIES and tells me the car was sold two days ago. Bruh. IKYFL. The smell of the BS must’ve been evident because he further explains that he can show me the sale sheet! Like, WTF does that mean to me?! So I show Victor the texts because YOU JUST TOLD ME THE CAR WAS HERE. His reply? It wasn’t him texting. Well who was it, VIC-TOR and why aren’t you all on the same page?! But because I have good credit and home training, I don’t say anything, and politely turn and leave - I’m not about to beg to give my money away where my business isn’t wanted. And honestly, I wasn’t even going to leave a review until TODAY, a whole four days later, I get online to keep car shopping, and saw the damn car is STILL LISTED for sale on the website (screenshot #5). Seriously?! Texan Hyundai is FULL OF SHT and discriminatory as F*CK. This is what honesty looks like, Texan Hyundai. Please take the time to reply and lie some more. The people know the BS. And thanks for contributing to every stereotype that people have about used car salesmen and dealerships. What’s even more crazy is that I SAW they have a ONE-STAR review on edmunds.com (screenshots #6 and 7) and I still took my dumb ass all the way out there. The very first review told me what scumbags they were and I didn’t believe fat meat was greasy (screenshot #8).

Texan Hyundai had a 2024 used vehicle on their website that was a fair price and happened to be the color combination we had been looking for my wife. I called in the morning and unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the person I spoke to. I started by asking him to confirm the vehicle was still in stock and yes it was available. I told him I was ready to buy if it passed a test drive and inspection, so please give me the out the door price so I could come prepared with a cashier’s check. He refused and said they can’t discuss any price at all on the phone, they only deal in person and only with an appointment.
I’ve never heard of a dealership refusing to sell a car that someone was literally saying they were ready to write a check for, just tell me how much. That was my first big red flag.
I decided that maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad salesman so I filled in the online form on their website to get their, “best price” which involves giving them your name and phone number. Almost immediately I got a call from Mauricio Hernandez. I again confirmed that yes they did have it in stock and asked for him to give me his best out the door price so I could bring a cashier’s check. He also suggested I come in to talk about it. I told him I don’t need to, I just need to know how much to bring to buy the vehicle. He said he’d get a number and call me back…. Spoiler alert: he didn’t call back.
I called the dealership and asked for him about 4 hours later. I was told he was busy but he would call me back if I left my name and number. Can you guess what happened? You got it, no call back.
At this point I was 95% certain this was an old school bait and switch dealer scam (“oh you wanted that one that’s at a good price? Sorry we JUST sold it but let me show you something similar!”).
My wife and I decided on the off chance we just got unlucky with salesmen to drive the hour drive each way to the dealership and see if we could find someone actually willing to sell us a car.
We got there and showed the web page of the car in question to our new salesman, Chazz. Chazz went away for a few minutes and here’s pop quiz number two, what do you think he said when came back? You got it, “We sold this vehicle 6 days ago”…..
I will say that Chazz was a high point in this experience. Unlike the gruff folks I’d dealt with previously, he was friendly and quite frankly very calm in the face of how upset I was with what the other salesmen had done. I would happily buy a car from Chazz in the future, but not at Texan Hyundai.
So the two people I’d spoken to previously who both confirmed they had the vehicle in stock and that I could come get it were both lying to get me on property.
This is why people don’t trust dealerships. Just another...
