We’ve been to this location more than once and food is always good because I love Waffle House, and service was never a big issue, but family was discriminated this week on 1/16. My husband, 2 year old daughter, and my 8 month pregnant self came to this location in search of some good breakfast as usual. Albeit it was during the cold freeze, we decided to venture off near our neighborhood to see if we could find something reliable to eat that was open. We were so glad Waffle House was open, but greatly disappointed in the service that day. The place was a lot emptier than usual due to the weather I’m assuming, but when we came in no one greeted us or acknowledged us. We didn’t think much of it at first since they don’t always have a host. We sat ourselves and prepared our table which is fine because I don’t expect Waffle House to be fine dining. Again, I’ve known my fair share of Waffle House experiences. We then waited and looked around to see if anyone could give us a menu. I looked at the server line to see if anyone would notice we’ve already sat down for a few minutes and I got look backs from this one female server nearest to us that only gave us stern look backs but never once spoke up and said “I’ll be right with you”. Instead, she just kept serving a table of 4 white men and repeatedly return to their table 4-5 times while we are sitting like deer in headlights just waiting for a menu. They used to put menus on the table, but I didn’t understand why she couldn’t just take one second of a trip to bring over a menu for us as she goes and attends to her other tables. Isn’t that just normal food service practice to just acknowledge the customers that sit down and give them a menu? After a few awkward minutes of wondering why we weren’t acknowledged in a fairly slow overall service that day (there were only 5 other tables), I finally looked over the counter and saw a menu right next to us so I just wanted to grab it myself to get things going for my family because we have a 2 year old and anyone with small kids know we don’t have the luxury of maxing and relaxing. The moment I tried to grab the menu, I get a very defensive “Ma’am, you’re going to have to hold on a minute. I’ll be with you but you’re going to have to wait while I serve these people”. I guess we’re not considered people? She finally comes over after tending to that table of white men 2-3 more times and then instead of apologizing for any wait, decides to lecture us in the words of “you’re going to have to wait, we only have two people working, I’m only one person, I told you to wait”. I said “but all we needed was a menu first so we could figure out what to order while we wait” and I still get the excuses of “well we were really busy” (only 5 tables among 2 servers) and just constant tension and attitude. By that time once she unhappily gave us the menus and silverware, didn’t even get our drink order and walked away, my pregnant self was so upset, I unfortunately told my family to leave because we can’t patron a place that makes us feel like crap. I’ve never been treated like that at a restaurant establishment before nor understood the hostility other than the feeling that we just didn’t fit the bill of being treated equally that day. It’s a shame because my family loves eating there, but the way we were treated was truly disheartening. We ended up going to Cracker Barrel, which was so much more...
Read morePlease shut this place down immediately and fire everyone.... including MANAGER. My little boy and I are on the way to ER after eating here..the food was a poorly cooked, green, and rock hard grits .... And dirty cooking oil which the employee stated on the recording. Not only did they refuse to refund me my money, but the manager told the employees over the phone to call the police instead. I simply asked for a refund and they offered me the police instead and laughed. I decided to handle this professionally and leave. I can not drive back for a refund and I don't trust giving my phone number to these unprofessional employees. I have proof. I video recorded the entire horrible ordeal from the 1st and 2nd time I enter. The cook prepared my food is horrible and is recorded not washing her dirty hands after handling non cooking items. She was not wearing gloves as she prepared the food with her long green nails before and while talking on the phone about someone being airlifted to the hospital. She never once bother to wash her hands until I complained seeing her dig her dirty nails in the food. Then the younger female with braids and a really bad attitude literally tossed me my food without saying a word...she just walked away. I asked was this all and she ignored me. When I returned back she argued loudly and verbally assaulted me after I showed them proof of the gross, GREEN EGGS, food AND rock HARD GRITS. The cook an older female is seen on video telling her to stop which she refused. I was only 12 minutes away when I notice the food was not suitable for a dog I had to stop and drive back, but I recorded and took pictures when I open it. They instead stated the eggs was green because of non existing grape jelly in it which does not make any common sense. Also they lied stating I had been gone over an hour. Bottom line After I waited over 40 minutes between 3pm and 4pm today in a practical EMPTY restaurant I was literally served poison and threatened by the manager and employees smirked in my face to get me arrested for simply asking for a refund. A whole team of advocates, influencer and Lawyers and others will be in touch with this Waffle house if something is...
Read moreWent in to the waffle house in the early morning to get something to eat after a long hard night at the shop. While I was in the bathroom the waiter confronted my son about a mask and was gd to leave. When I come out of the bathroom to find my son outside I went outside he told me what happened I gave extra mask in my car I gave him one. We entered the establishment and the waiter mentioned that she wouldn't serve my son and his girlfriend but she sould serve me and then she I started explaining that they had complied with the rules now she is getting loud with me as i try to explain to her I understand she may have had a long hard day but this is not the way to handle it by taking it out on the customers who come in to spend the money, now she starts talking crazy and refusing service to me too. Now here's the good part the waiter made sure no mew incoming customers went before us, he took our order made our food, and served us. At the end I tipped the cook $20 for doing the extra work to satisfy us. When the waiter seen me tip the cook the $20 shd turned friendly and tried to start explaining also after I brought to her attention that she just waited and served a white/Mexican customer that didn't have a mask on. I told the lady I didn't had tried very hard not to use the race card but I seen thats exactly what had happened to me and my family.
Me and my crew always stop in there when we work late so the cook knows me.
Also I mentioned that when a customer is eating the mask comes off anyway, so tbe mask is only to come in and sit down after that...
