On June 8th I made a reservation at the Rosenberg, TX Golden Corral with a manager named Justin for my gender reveal on Sunday July 28th from 2-5 pm. On July 27th I received a call from management and verified that the space would still be needed for that date and time. On July 27th I also asked if I could arrive 30 min early to set up for the event. I was told that would be fine. On the day of the event while driving from Killeen, TX I called the restaurant at noon to verify that I could arrive early and set up for the 2-5pm reservation. Again I was told the room would be ready and vacated for 25 guest by 1:30 pm. However when I arrived at 1:39 pm and informed the front cashier that I had reserved the back room for 25 guest she looked uneasy. She informed me that they were aware of my reservation but the restaurant had gotten really busy so people were seated back there. I asked to be shown the room. As I’m entering the room I reserved I noticed they are JUST NOW seating a family of 10 along with 5 other tables completely filled with families. None of those families would be done eating in 2 hours let alone the next 15 minutes. When I finally spoke with the manager Jonathon he was not apologetic and he was not reassuring. His first words to me were, “They should’ve never booked that room for you today at this time. You will have to share that room.” I quickly responded, “That is not my problem. I booked this room almost 2 months ago. I called to verify it’s availability today at noon. But since you’re saying I have no other choice but to share a room that was supposed to be reserved only for me and my 25 guest, what accommodations are going to be made for my inconvenience?” I asked if a discount would be given but that was denied. So I let the manager know that he should be prepared for 25 bad reviews, Jonathan’s response to that was “Are you going to stay or are you going to leave?”
After that unprofessional response I left to see if the Denny’s restaurant around the corner had space for 25 guest. They did. When I returned to Golden Corral around 2:10 pm they only had cleared one table for 10 which was located right in the middle of the other filled tables. That one table alone would not accommodate me and my 25 guest. So I left and went to Denny’s.
Jonathon is a terrible manager. He handled me (a pregnant lady btw) and the situation poorly. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Instead I would recommend the Denny’s around...
Read moreI have never liked golden corral, have had it two times in the past. The first time it was okay but the second time was in Galveston & that was a terrible experience. Decided to give it a third chance a few years later, went there this Monday that passed & of course I was right golden corral still sucks. First the restaurant stunk of old frying oil, since they have carpets it smelled even more. You can straight up tell they don't even wash the carpets, it is filthy & smells rancid. Second, it's pretty filthy. You can tell the employees do the bare minimum of keeping tables, windows, chairs & buffet counters clean. Third, the food is plain ol mediocre & gross. The food is literally not it & for almost $20 per person it should be better & the price should be lower if you ask me since everything is basic cafeteria food. Even hospital food would be much better than eating at the golden corral. Don't even bother getting any creamy soups because I did get a serving & it was completely burnt. It straight up tasted & smelled like an ashtray, I noticed it till I sat down to get a taste. Fourth, there were gnats flying on the desserts & they add way too much salt on the frostings & cakes. Service was meh, didn't receive a lot of service but I wouldn't expect to be top notch either. The golden corral is such a gross place to eat there, I do not get why they're still open & why people actually enjoy it too. All serving spatulas were completely greasy from so many people touching it & man the whole franchise needs to go...
Read moreIf you're looking for a clean, well-maintained buffet restaurant with great service, Golden Buffet is definitely worth a visit! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how spotless everything was — from the entrance and dining area to the food stations and restrooms. Cleanliness is a big priority for me when dining out, and Golden Buffet truly exceeded my expectations.
The layout of the buffet is very organized, with a wide variety of dishes that are constantly being refreshed and maintained at the right temperatures. Everything looked appealing and was labeled clearly. Whether you're in the mood for classic Chinese-American favorites, sushi, seafood, or even some dessert treats, there's something here for everyone.
What really stood out to me, aside from the cleanliness, was the service. The staff were extremely polite and attentive without being intrusive. Our server checked in regularly to refill drinks and clear plates, and she did so with a warm smile every time. Everyone was working hard to keep the place running smoothly, and you could really feel their commitment to making sure guests had a great experience.
Overall, Golden Buffet offers an inviting, family-friendly atmosphere with a strong focus on hygiene and customer care. It's a great spot whether you're dining solo, with family, or hosting a casual get-together. Highly recommend for anyone craving a satisfying buffet experience with great service and an impressively clean...
