Coach Ron is amazing!
I registered for the Pittsburgh marathon this year and wanted to train differently than I have for my previous marathons. I decided to add more strength training to my training plan. I started strength training, mainly at home with an app, about 2 years ago, so I basically taught myself through videos and reading, so I wanted to be sure my form was correct to prevent injury, also. Plus, I've been looking for a way to challenge myself and give myself a push to get better. I'm a travel nurse and was home for a month during the holidays, so I went to Ron while I was home. I was able to train with him 3-5 times a week during that time. He varied every training session, always kept things challenging, fun, and different. Ron is a wealth of information and explained each movement, so I understood what we were doing and why. I loved this because it helped me make the mind/body connection to each movement (plus it fed my brain with new knowledge). Ron focused on functional movement, the movement we do every day, and the movement I need to run a marathon (and load/unload my car for travel assignments!). I like this approach because I plan to be active my whole life! Ron taught me so much about the movements (strength and stretching), the tools (weights, bands, kettlebells, ect), and stressed how to feel the movement vs think of it (which really helps keep form and good posture) in my time with him that I feel confident creating my own workouts while I'm gone on my nursing assignment.
Another thing I love about Ron is who he is as a person. When I 1st met him, he talked about mindset, getting better every day, and his values. I realized it wasn't just talk when I started training with him. That is who he is as a person. His mindset and values are contagious. You originally go to him to train your physical self, but end up training your mental (and spiritual) self, too.
Like I said at the beginning, Coach Ron is amazing! If you're looking for a trainer, definitely give him a try, you won't be...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI cannot say enough about Coach Ron. I have been a professional fitness coach for 30+ years (mostly group instruction), and I felt it was time to have someone personally train me. Never in a million years did I think I'd find someone as brilliant, skilled, kind, and creative as Ron. I have been training with Ron for well over 1 year now, and I can honestly say I don't believe I've ever done the same workout twice! As I've gotten to know him, I realize Ron's mind is constantly working to provide each and every client a personalized experience. I have never felt rushed, and I always struggle to walk out of the gym... his workouts are brutally challenging (which is exactly what I need). I sometimes wonder if he has a photographic memory because he remembers the smallest of details, including which music I like to listen to during the workouts. Ron reads and absorbs everything he learns, which he then shares with me (sometimes via documented-driven articles). He is an absolute sponge for all sorts of information! His knowledge on the body's anatomy and physiology is uncanny, which demonstrates his passion for training others. In addition to training me, he has provided my daughter countless tips on wrestling for her high school team. Ron is the type of person who will go out of his way to be there for you, and I am honored to call him my friend. If you are hesitating to train with Coach Ron, don't! You will...
