Sloat Garden Center — Local services in Ross

I was recently at Sloat in Kentfield. It has a great selection of plants and pots and a knowledgeable staff. Today however what stood out is Skyler. I was standing outside my car because it wouldn’t start. I had called AAA to come and help me. At that moment Skyler, a Sloat employee, walked up and asked me if I was having car trouble. When I explained that the car wouldn’t start he offered to jump the battery. It worked! I was so impressed that I didn’t have to go into the store to ask for a jump, but he saw me standing in the parking lot and offered to help. Thank you Skyler for going out of your way to be helpful. Hands down my favorite garden store!

The plants are very healthy, and well suited to Northern California environment.

I’ve gotten many house plants here (red leaf banana, a small monstera, gorgeous ferns) that have all been thriving. A friend of mine got around 30 various vegetable plants this spring (many tomatoes, peppers and squashes) that are all doing very well in his garden in Oakland. Reliably great!
