Heard awesome things about the restaurant so wanted to try it out. Ambience and wait staff, fantastic. Food, some dishes were great while others flat. Cocktails, highly recommend, they know what they’re doing. The details- If you want one of the booths, you HAVE to request it on a Friday-Sunday night. Pretty annoying when we asked to have a booth and one stayed completely empty our entire meal…weird but ok? The staff is SO nice and incredibly friendly, ready to help with any questions. They were attentive without being pushy and had great attention to detail. Their cocktails are fantastic- perfectly executed and well balanced. Kudos to the bartender who had a full bar to attend to as well. The food. This is where things got a little dicey. The special menu said crab cake appetizer and a halibut entree - love these so wanted to try. The crab cakes….were not cakes. I don’t even know if there was that much crab in them at all. They were as big as a dino nugget each, with zero flavor. The remoulade on top and romesco sauce on bottom were the only flavors to the dish. The halibut was SUPER inconsistent, each piece coming out of the kitchen in varying sizes. The overall portion was very small, barely making it an entree size. On the core menu, we also got the radiatore bolognese dish. Sauce was fantastic but the pasta was wellllll over cooked. Huge bummer. For the better dishes, the saffron arancini were fantastic and super flavorful. The cioppino was MASSIVE and had so much to it and a beautiful piece of grilled sourdough for dunking. The fried chicken sando was a little smaller than expected, but the sauciness and flavor well made up for it. Needless to say, the staff was lovely, but the food needs some solid adjustments. I would recommend sitting a the bar (it’s very popular) and grabbing an app...

My husband and I dined at Guest House last night for his birthday and were both very pleased with the meal and service! We had a fun time chatting with the table next to us and playing the Marvel Alphabet game, ha! I appreciated that our server made sure the chef cooked my salmon fully to assist with my pregnancy (no raw fish!) and loved the Grapefruit Spritzer!! The Smoked Trout appetizer was small but a good portion for 2 to share, although we could have easily eaten at least a dozen. I loved the warm and crispy texture/taste of the potato base and the avocado mousse with basil oil - really balanced well with the smoked flakes trout. My salmon dish was complex and exciting, every bite was adventure - wood fired artichokes with Dijon mustard WOW, just wow!! I also thought my husband's steak was very nice but didn't eat much due to him liking it a little more on the rare side. We both thought the addition of A1 sauce on the side was odd as the red wine demi sauce was a perfect pairing. The random grilled lemon half also threw us off a bit and weren't sure if it was meant to be there at all as the Arugula salad was seasoned well and not lacking acid. We shared the Mudpie for dessert, and our server brought it out with a candle, which was very sweet. My husband was disappointed that this Mudpie did not have ice cream (I have never had a mudpie with ice creams this a thing??) and thought the dessert was insanely good and not overly sweet. What a perfect balance of chocolate to meringue. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will...

Chef Jared Rogers has spent the better part of a decade perfecting his craft at the renowned Picco restaurant in Larkspur, and as a result, he is well aware of the preferences of the refined Marin clientele. His restaurant in Kentfield is a hidden treasure of the area, but it is only frequented by those who live in mansions. The menu is accordingly filled with dressed-up crowd-pleasers, such as indulgent flourless chocolate cake heaped high with chocolate ice cream and grilled king salmon with chimichurri and summery succotash. The space gives off the impression of a spacious old barn that has been converted into a luxurious holiday retreat thanks to its plush leather seats, eye-catching wallpaper, and tiled center bar. This festive spirit is carried over into the hand-crafted drinks that Co-owner Dustin Sullivan creates, such as the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, which is a tropical rum mix with lime...

You could make an entire meal from the appetizers alone. The inspired menu is eclectic and yet simple. The dishes key ingredients speak for themselves. The wine list features many selections for those just waiting a glass and offers superior variety above and beyond the ubiquitous California Zinfandel or Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that we see in almost every restaurant in northern California. Superior service rounded out the experience with personal contact with the owner and GM. It didn't feel overdone and we felt that everyone and everything was well orchestrated. Had the crab stuffed lobster and my mom had the King salmon for mains. Appetizers included oysters, the smoked trout bites, mushrooms and arancini. We still had room for the special dessert: peach cobbler. We can't wait to return!

I recently dined at the Guesthouse Restaurant in Kenfield, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the steak filet mignon grilled to perfection, and it was nothing short of incredible! The steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each bite melted in my mouth, and the seasoning was spot-on. It truly was the highlight of the meal! The overall dining experience was exceptional, with a great selection of dishes and a cozy ambiance that makes it perfect for any occasion. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by the Guesthouse Restaurant—it's a gem that you don't want to miss!
