Had not been here for many years, but recalled it was an enjoyable place with decent food. A 3 to 4 star experience.
Sad to say, but it's really gone downhill to virtually the bottom.
They brought wooden handled knives for the eggs Benedict that were literally broken. The blade was dangling in the handle because one of the rivets was gone. The handles were in terrible shape as well, to the point of being rotten.
The food was as horrid as the condition of the cutlery.
The eggs were not poached well, and runny. Ham was not good. Muffin was undercooked. Hollandaise sauce was white and tasteless. Hash browns were mushy like mashed potatoes.....
The burger was worse than a horrid burger we had at a Black Bear Diner. Same odd textured and chemical tasting beef patty, but the bun was old and gummy and the tomato and such were tasteless. No flavor except for the odd meat.
All four of us swore never again for this place.

Read moreSorry, I know the place is very popular but I had brunch there this morning with my family. It was one of the worst breakfast/brunches I have ever had, ever. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. I was asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. I said sunny side up. Order came out cold with cold beans and poached overcooked cold eggs under a cold tortilla with an awful tasting, cold, red, muddy, cheesy sauce. Tasted my wife's pancakes. No flavor, like cardboard. Sent back the Rancheros and within 7 minutes got another order ( virtually impossible with food cooked to order). Came out somewhat warm with again over cooked, probably pre-cooked poached eggs from the frig. and a green tasteless salsa. Beans tasted like they came out of a can. Coffee was fair to poor. Mother-in-law had an omelette - rubbery and tasteless. Maybe I'm being too harsh and picky. On the other hand maybe the kitchen staff should be more aware and take more pride in what they...
Read moreAlthough the previous owner never knew how to smile, this current ownership has really dragged this place down. Why? Food is absolutely terrible. Full of poor quality cooking oil (go look yourself). New rule for me: If a restaurant can't toast your toast properly = red flag. Hash browns are embarrassing too. Still featuring "orange butter" as their staple butter with pancakes and waffles. I would love to do a focus group on who prefers orange butter. It's not good. Ambiance inside needs a refresh. Outdoor seating - although great potential - using the cheapest plastic chairs you could sit on. This is Kentfield (please review median household income here - operation should reflect that).
Note: Staff is awesome (minus executive Chef). Some people who have been there for years. Love them.
I have more to say and I will be back.
