5 Stars Kraken Games is the gold standard of nostalgia shops, a true throwback to the hobby stores of the '80s and '90s. If you're chasing an authentic, old-school collectibles experience—before geek culture was mainstream—this is your stop.

If you’re after the semi-mainstream, go to Bull Moose. If you're drawn to the polished, over-commercialized “geek is cool now” vibe, head to Boston. But if you want a real-deal time capsule of nerd culture in its raw, passionate form, Kraken Games is absolutely worth the visit. Yes they have reto toys, yes games, yes consoles, yes MTG, yes Pokemon, yes Yu-Gi-Oh, yes nostalgia collectables. Yes a selection of VHS, cassettes, action figures, and more recent digital media ( Xbox, PlayStation games and accessories) what can I say he greeted me at he door and offered customer service appropriate to the setting. Chris was patient with the young children shopping with there parents, and even encouraged positive and fun exchanges between customers, the owner advised customers to check out other shops in the area. This is a good sign of a good shop owner building the community . If you have the time to spend a half hour looking for something this is a good place to start. Get your nostalgia here birthday or Christmas this place will not disappoint. They even have a selection of comic books.

Now to the negative. It's not much of a negative to be honest. It's a little cramped, but that's also part of the experience. Keep up the good work...

This all encompassing game store is just objectively great. With better prices, a warm atmosphere and a friendly owner there is nothing that I can or have though of that's negative about this place.

The owner and sole employee of this store has routinely demonstrated, not only through my interactions but my observations of other customer's interactions as well. To be clear, I was not trying to ease drop on anyone, it's not a massive or giant size store like chain game stores.

Lastly, I would like to point out that I'm not writing this review just because of my own opinion of this game store, but also because of one of my good friends experiences here. Just wanted to say how awesome the staff here is! I recently purchased a used Xbox and the controller was having some issues, the owner even took the controller apart and cleaned it to try and get it working for me. When it didn’t happen, he did everything he couldn’t to try and get a suitable replacement in a short time frame.
