Off the Vine Tuscan Grille — Restaurant in Rowley

Extremely impressed! Full disclosure, I worked for Off the Vine ,(Marie and Greg) when I was 18. Although it does not feel like it, but that was 20 years ago!!! At the time, Off the Vine was a specialty food store. We sold boars head meat, an array of specialty salads, I.e. pasta salads, potato salads, etc as well as sandwiches… the store was also almost a cafe with coffees, teas, and we sold a large amount of bottled wines and specialty beers for your home. I’ve popped in once before, maybe 10 years ago and I believe at the beginning stages of the transition to what is now a sit down dinner restaurant with a full bar.

Today, my best friend and I stopped in randomly for dinner. My extra dirty martini was absolutely perfect, the bruschetta was out of this world, and my chicken franchise was something to write home about…

When I steeped into Off The Vine, the the warmth of the pizza oven and the aroma of good food was a welcome relief to the first real cool autumn day. We were seated right away and the menu was filled with tasty ideas. We ordered a flat bread combination of their specialty pizzas, half veggie and half. "Off the vine", pork dumplings and we split the Mandarin Salad. The salad came out 1st already split on seperate plates, nice, and the dressing on the side.I enjoyed the blend of tastes between the sweet dressing, the cheese and nuts overall deliciousness. The dumplings were fried and equally yummy with peanut sauce fir dipping. Finally , the pizza, it was more than enough for the 2 of us and quite delicious, this place gives you great portions of delicious food a definite 2 spoons up rating, I'll be back to sample the rear...

have been here before but tonight was sub par. ordered an appetizer and salads and told the waitress to not bring our main course until we were done. The Appetizer and salads came out together. check - . I'm not even half way done with my salad and out comes the main course. I said I wasn't ready and she put my burger in the middle of the table. I said it will be cold by the time ill be ready to eat it. she walks away. I wait 10 minutes after finishing salad and there is no ketchup. waitress finally returns and asks how every thing is. I tell her I don't know because I needed ketchup. fast forward to the end of our meal and she comes to check on us. before we could say we wanted the rest to go she is gone. wait another 10 minutes before she is back to finally pay the bill. waitress had an off...
