Absolutely awful experience with the cashier and manager today (9/20) around 10 am. Used my husband's debit card to try to purchase a Visa gift card for his brother's birthday. Two times in the last week I have been at this location and once to the West Main location, with the same card, without my husband, and have had no issues. The magnetic strip on his card has almost worn out and the Walgreens machines won't read his card anymore, so it has to be keyed in. Three times previously there has not been an issue with this. Today, I am told my the manager and the cashier that they aren't allowed to key in a card if the strip won't work, and that employees who do "get in trouble" for it. I have been in retail for almost 10 years at multiple stores and have never heard of such a thing. People's cards wear out, you key it in, it works, no harm no foul, right? Not today. Thanks to the way this was handled I won't ever be back. I was worried that they even thought the card was stolen so I showed them my ID with the same last name as what was on the card, and that in fact it was my husband's card, for his account, to buy a gift for his brother, but they still said if the strip wouldn't read then there was just no way for me to pay. Absolutely ridiculous considering three previous times within a week I had three separate cashiers key in the card with no issues. Walgreens, I won't be back, and maybe you should teach your staff that it's acceptable to key in a debit card when the strip...
Read moreI visited this store for the first time today and I am very glad it has opened. The traffic chaos at the other store is not to be handled without nerves of steel.
The manager at the new store was extremely nice and very helpful. He helped me get a great deal on some toys my Angel Tree child has requested.
A very nice older lady, Margy, who was dressed up, made-up, and hair freshly done helped me in the make up department. She certainly knew her stuff.
As she was checking me out and helping me sign up for your store card, the fat, unkempt, younger woman at the register near the door screamed to the customers that they could go to Margy's register. In a very rude way, she sarcastically shouted and asked Margy if she "could handle it". This girl's hair was pulled back in a messy low ponytail with bobbie pins, a super awful maxi skirt that looked like it was made from an old gray sweatshirts, thick black socks or tights, no makeup, and DIRTY Crocs.
I am sorry I didn't get her tackinesses' name and keep up with the number I could call to take a survey, however, I promise you this-if that little twit is ever that rude to an older person again around me, there will be Hell to pay!
5 stars without her, 2...
Read moreThis was my 2nd time going to Walgreens on West Main to fill my prescription. The first time was fabulous. The 2nd time was a disaster. I went thru the drive thru at 6:52pm. Kyle informed me that there wasnât a prescription for me and they were closing in 8 minutes. I could have my dr call it into Walgreens on east main. I quickly called my dr. They reported the prescription was turned in at 18:43., but she was more than willing to call in order to get there in time. I went back thru the line and informed Kyle. He again said, we are closing at 7pm and I donât have anything for you. I told him, the dr is supposed to be calling you now. Kyle said, well my phone is ringing if you want me to answer it. He then informed the drâs office that they were closing and theyâd need to send it to the east Walgreens store. I did inform him that he was very rude and hateful. #stayawayfromkyleatquittingtime...
