I took the Intro to Blacksmithing class here and thought it was an awesome time! I was curious about the techniques and tools and was hoping to get a hands-on experience. The class completely fit the bill. Jordan was a great instructor, offering lots of tips and insights, and answering all the questions we bombarded him with. I came away with a couple of self-made hooks, a self-made horseshoe knife, and a new-found appreciation for the art. There was a younger child in the class, and Jordan's techniques allowed him to completely participate and even end up with a knife that was better than mine! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the shop and class to anyone interested in the art, and if you have kids, this is a wonderful way to get them a one-of-a-kind experience. Phenomenal small business offering a unique experience! If you're interested in forging, want to try something new and rewarding or simply enjoy doing something creative with your hands, I highly recommend taking a class (or a few) here. I went with my husband for a rail knife class and had such a fun time! Jordan and Rachel went above and beyond to welcome people, offer guidance and create a community within the class. The excitement Jordan has about his craft was infectious, which was not only a joy to watch but fostered a mutual excitement for the process. Booked the horseshoe knife class for my son and two of his friends as a birthday present, and it was an amazing experience! All 3 boys are the same age (11) and began with an eagerness to learn and engage but apprehensive about the actual class and working with the hot tools/fire ect. Within a few minutes the boys seemed at ease, the instructor was engaging them and explaining things very well and helping them feel comfortable and confident!
