This was at one time my favorite restaurant for Mexican food other than the obvious Taco Bell, however over the last year this restaurant has changed and not for the good. The staff are no longer friendly and the food is no longer what it once was. Nothing looks appealing because it’s just long together and 75% of the time your order is wrong. Requesting the manager does nothing other than irritate them because they will not make things right and they do not act too concerned with your being unsatisfied. I ordered a taco salad and this comes in a bread bowl, by the time I got 2 miles back to my house it was a soggy watery mess. I brought it back and showed it to the manager and he said what did I want him to do? I told him nothing, absolutely nothing. Before that a week earlier I had ordered the two tacos and one burrito. When they brought it to my table it clearly was not what I had ordered however they expected me to eat it because that’s what they made. The salsa that they bring as a courtesy, was water. Needless to say we got up and walked out and went to Taco Bell. They probably toe is harming themselves and are not concerned as I have heard many people complain lately. I will not be visiting May Pueblito anytime soon in the future at Any location. Step it up...
Read moreSo it's Sunday evening and we're traveling through the small towns along Highway 221 from Little Switzerland to Chesnee. We had been looking for a decent place to eat for over an hour. Every time we thought we had found a place, they would be closed. We almost settled for fast food but really wanted to enjoy a sit down quality meal. When we got to Rutherfordton ,, we had little hope left. Then as we sat at a traffic light, i looked to my right and questioned if I was really seeing what I thought I was seeing. Among all the unlit older buildings was a bright unfaded enticing sign for a mexican restaurant. There are lots of low budget mexican restaurants in old abandoned strip malls but that was not the case for Mi Pueblito. As we drove up I was amazed that they had actually constructed a beautiful Spanish style building to house this culinary treasure. As we entered I was pleased with the condition and cleanliness of the building..
What started out so positive, continued to delight us as we were served with pleasantness and accuracy. The best part of the experience was the quality of the food and the plentiful size of the portions.
We are planning the 45 mile trip back to this restaurant even as I am writing...
Read moreI arrived there 45 minutes to close with the intention of getting just a quick bite to eat. When me and my fiance denter the building we stood there for a while and there was cleaning crew everywhere all the seats were up and no one was willing to see dust. Frustrated with waiting we walk to the bar have the bartender wait on us because no one else was willing to do it. We both got a drink and quesadillas. The quesadillas were soggy because the cheese that is used is more the consistency of Velveeta cheese and it's just barely mixed in with the vegetables and the meat. It tastes delicious but I wouldn't consider it a quesadilla because you have to cut it into pieces and eat it with a fork. And even then it's still falls off the fork. The bartender was amazing very friendly and helped us the best he could. We were out of there in 20 minutes. We've been there previously but at a time earlier in the day and that experience was much better. The combined experiences cause me to give a three out of five the bad experience was about a two out of five and the good one was a 4 out of 5 because the food in the quesadilla...
