This place is wonderful! We drove from California to Maine to attend an event where our kitty cat wasnât allowed, and so she spent five days here.
Found Suntarâs online, and chose it thanks to good reviews. Setting up the reservation with Gryta was easy and I could tell she really cares about the well being of the cats and dogs who have the good fortune to play and stay here.
We dropped off Merlie Bird early on a Monday. It was her first time away from us since she had come into our lives six months prior, so the good-bye was a little teary. The friendly and efficient staff did a great job of getting the details of feeding and playtime, and we checked in daily to see how things were going - reports were pretty good considering it was a first-time stay for Merlie at a pet boarding home - good appetite but more reserved than usual during the times she spent in the common space.
There are a lot of options for kitties to play, climb and snuggle, and she did a lot of snuggling in a cozy covered kitty bed. Several of the kennels have nice window views, and when one of those came available the staff was happy to move her to one so she could look outside more easily.
We camp a lot so Merlie was happy to get back to our tent, but we could tell she was very well cared for in her time at Suntarâs. And, we will definitely have her stay here again if the...
Read moreI used to bring my dog Jager here for many years. He's now six. 3 years ago he had an incident where if you hold the leash up like he thinks you're playing so he likes to jump up and get it. So he accidentally nipped ( supposedly I never did see the wound on the girl's hand and she said she was fine) . She didn't bleed. There was no incident report. Nothing traumatic!! fast forward 3 years and not to mention a little confused on your indecisiveness how one year it's okay for him to come and then the next minute he's not allowed to come back !? today I've asked to board Jäger back there again and I was told no that he was a biter ?where I had spoken with the owners just last year regarding JÄger( day care) coming back and she had agreed that he could come back and that he was a good dog. Unfortunately, I did not save those emails to use as proof of that conversation. I find the way they are treating me because of the breed of dog I have is horrible. My dog has never bitten anybody. He's not a mean aggressive dog. It turns out that Suntar kennels had an incident a couple months ago where one of their employees got bit and she needed stitches. Okay, that was that person's dog, not my dog. Why am I being penalized for someone else's dog? Suntar kennel I'm extremely disappointed in your decision and feel that you are being very unjust all because...
Read moreI Called Suntar's Kennels on a whim when I showed up to my cabin that was "pet friendly" all to find out my dog could not be left in the cabin unattended (even if caged) for any period of time. Afraid my children's vacation was ruined I called these guys and they told me to bring him over. He is a only a year, high energy, anxious dog and had never boarded before so I was so afraid. They answered when we called and helped us feel confident he was being well taken care of and not locked away somewhere. By time we came to get him he was trying to stay! Would recommend any day. My family thanks you for taking care of our furry child so everyone, including Gunner, could enjoy...
