My pet is a almost 8 year old boxer, who was attacked by a pitbull at 4 months old. (This dog broke through our fence and attacked her in our yard) I relayed this info to them & also told them my boxer can be snappy when she gets overwhelmed in crowds. Once she becomes over stimulated she gets anxious and if dogs get near her she will snap, not aggressively but will let others know sheās done playing. Instead of removing her from the scene they left her because as manager stated āwanted to give her a chanceā and another dog reacted to her snap and attacked her. After telling them how she responds, her queues of when sheās done playing, they still didnāt do their obligation which resulted to my pet being attacked. Both pets were ok but mine has stage 3 kidney disease and only has one kidney. Any trauma can increase her chances of losing her only healthy kidney. They were nice and accommodating at first and were planning to give us a military discount for boarding for 2 weeks, but after this Incident with her evaluation, even after me explaining to them how my pet is, they still tried to put the blame on my dog. I wouldnāt recommend anyone with an anxious pet to stay here/ or day care here. We found another boarding care in Dixon and I explained the situation to Blue Ridge Kennel, who is also a trainer, they stated the same thing I told the manager of animal den, āif she was a pup who was attacked previously, itās normal for them to be snappy, but she should have been removed from the scene to prevent anything furtherā which animal den failed to do.
Hope this helps someone else with an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 1 year old deaf golden retriever was put into a pack of 60 dogs! When he got excited and rowdy, the staff decided that he was too difficult because he could not be controlled with verbal commands. He did well when he was put into a smaller pack of dogs. However, I was not offered the option to put him in daycare where he would be in the smaller pack. The staff recommended training for him. When I agreed and asked him to set up with a trainer, they said the trainer wouldn't be available until March. Even though working with dogs is their job, the staff was not willing to work with my dog on any level because of his disability. He goes to work with me every day. None of my colleagues could believe that this dog was rejected because of his behavior and the fact that he has a disability. He is young and excitable when he plays, but he is not a bad dog even on his worst day. Even if you have a dog who behaves perfectly all of the time, I would not recommend this business. Putting 60 dogs together into a free running pack puts all of the dogs in danger. Relying on controlling a pack like that just with verbal commands is not a sound practice. Put your dog in doggy daycare somewhere where they are concerned about the welfare and happiness of your dog, not a place where they put as many dogs as possible into a facility just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe drove from North Natomas for the open swim, and will never be back. The woman working the front desk was not very welcoming when we arrived, acting as if we were an inconvenience. I handed her our paperwork, and she told me we needed our vaccination paperwork. I apologized for not having them, and ask if she could please call our vet to verify. She rolled her eyes, seemed really annoyed and mumbled about how she would try but she was the only person there, and she had to be available to wait on other people. NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE.
I apologized again and explained we drove all the way from North Natomas, it was our first time and didn't' realize I was supposed to bring more paperwork. She pointed out on the intake form (last sentence in the middle of a page of text) that we were supposed to bring proof. I apologized again, explaining it wasn't easy to see.
At this point, I told her I thought she was rude and we would not be using their facility. She said, "I'm sorry that is your perception."
We will not come back, and I would not recommend this place. If you can't smile and welcome guests like you want them to be there, you should not be working the front counter. We felt unwelcome from the moment we walked...
